Hello;

I am just learning some basics. What's a good word I could use instead of "controversial" that doesn't sound like it's a "marketing word"?

Visitors have kinda been desensitized to it.

Cheer.

    Shocking? Game-Changing? Questionable?
Need to see the sentence or paragraph to come up with better ones

I like to consider my most polemic and vitriolic content to be an engaging dissent for my discriminating reading audiences, Being at odds in a heated dispute can often be endearing to some, and a celebrated difference of opinion to contenders.

    Not politically correct.

    Here is an example:

Listen up. What I am going to say is not politically correct, but it is the true answer.

Politicians claim that are straight arrows. However, that is not the case. Most say that are going to lower taxes, not raise em. They talk about "enhancing" their revenue. Well, that means more money in their pocket and less money in yours.

Wow. I would never hire someone who identified with this quote.

  • I'm not sure if "controversial" is worn out.

Providing it's not blazing red in a 67 word hyped up headline.

And you explain why it is "controversial" (don't use it just to create a false effect).

Phrased in the right way it can still have a visceral impact.

However, if you feel it's a bit "tired."

You could try - "Radical" or "Different"

Maybe with "This really is" before it.

when I hear controversial (in my marketer hat) I'm turned off. Why is it controversial?

If I choose not to use that, I simple use the old fashion "this might down right piss you off" when in a lead.

I'm really curious. What kind of clients like that quote? How do they know you're not going to be looking down on them for being incredibly stupid? (Because that is what comes across.)
