How do I star practicing ? should I just find random products online and use them or is there a better way to do it?

Why not start with your own product? There are places where you can
get an ebook written fora decent price and you can then write the sales
letter and see how it goes. MY very first online sales letter was for my
own product before I offered copywriting services for clients.

+1. I've put together 20+ sales letters for myself that never saw the light of day.

Created a few products that made some sales and got buried on the hard drive because I didn't like them afterwards.

Put together a bunch of email campaigns that never had traffic sent through them. All for "practice" -- ie: being a newb.

Write something, let it sit for a week, then go back to it and read it out loud. Make it so good you'd buy it, then send the link to your momma.

Check out http://swiped.co -- He sends out good stuff all the time. A bunch of classics on that site, too.

Picking a product and writing practice copy for it isn't a bad idea, plus you could potentially use it in your portfolio.

But, as Ray said, the best way is to practice is on your own products. Copy is all about results - so until you test it's hard to know whether your writing is doing its job.

When I started to learn email marketing I spent a few hundred on building a small list in a specific niche, then practiced emailing them every day. Nothing teaches you faster than getting instant stats on what's actually working.

It's difficult to know exactly as you have to know your audience and the pain points that you want to solve.

But if your a good writer there's always a need for good copy out there.
