How to hire a copywriter... from a copywriter's perspective

Hey Gang...

I did an interview with another top copywriter, Mitch Miller, about hiring guys like us... and getting the biggest ROI possible.

Take a few minutes and glean through it whatever you can.

I'd love to do more of these... so feel free to post some feedback below!

    Hi Mark,

    From a potential client and prospect point of view...

    I took a few minutes and I will try to listen to the broadcast further but my immediate impressions were a little disappointing for a few reasons..

    I'd sort of expect a few things like an opening hook and some stick strategy to get me to listen to the what should have been a podcast not a video.

    I'd expect better structure given you both promote as "top copywriters"

    Kind of expected something like

    Hi...listen to this interview and find out the three top tips to maximising ROI from employing a copywriter...Stick around to the end and I'll give you a link to get my checklist that guarantees you won't waste any time with you next campaign.

    I'll listen to more of the meat of the interview later but the first few minutes just didn't grab me.

    Thanks for sharing it however.

      Thanks for the feedback dude.

      We put the idea together the day before... and you're right... I didn't build it like a presentation.

      However...

      It's real-talk information that could save you... and make you... a fortune - if you hire someone from this forum... or elsewhere.

      So I'm fine with it. I might do a more structured one later down the road.

          I think you did a very nice job. I agree that the more vague a client is about their needs, the harder it will be to deliver the right content. It IS a relationship.

    Hey Mark,
    Dig the toothpick and you're easy on the eyes! That said, why a youtube video when the visuals are static? (Unless I missed something...) I kept waiting for something to happen, visually. Like Oziboomer said, maybe it shoulda been a podcast? Anyway, it was a great interview.

      It was recorded as a Google Hangout video chat. When the video chat was over, the recording automatically rendered as a YouTube video.

      For those who don't like video, it's easy enough to convert the audio portion of videos to mp3s. I do it frequently, so I can listen to interviews while driving.
