Whats the difference between a sales page &

Hello

I'm wanting to know the difference in a sales page and a website page..

I have made a website and put a decent article on the home page, not really selling my item but just info about it, in hopes that people will click on my links and my affiliate sales page will sell them on the product. I guess my question is does this work or do I need to put a sales page on my website home page. This is the part of affiliate marketing that I get confused on. I read that if you write good content on your website people will click trough to your product sales page. I hope you can understand what I am asking. Please help..

Thank you
Matthew D

The one thing you don't want to do is to have 2 sales pages. Your concept of writing a good article on the topic is the right way to go, but you need to convince them to click on that link at the bottom of your article so that they go to the sales page. That is the hard part.

Short answer, the difference is in the goal you are letting the user achieve.

    Website can:
    1) Provide information on your product.
    2) Let the user contact you.
    3) etc.

A sales letter has one action, BUY! It provides the info as well but all your efforts are directed to the goal of getting them to buy.

I have many funnels to get them to my sales page but the sales page pays the bills and is the ultimate goal I want the user to hit.

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.

  • Think about how the visitor comes to your page, what they are looking for and why they might click on a link to go check out an affiliate product. Chances are you can come up with a solid profile of your visitors and use that information to generate more clicks.
