free e-book : 49 tips to lose fat or 50 tips ?

I know I should split test , but getting your opinions first is better before designing the book cover.

What number converts better ? 47 , 49 , 50 or 51 ?

Because I read that 49 looks more real than 50.

You'd make out better with a lower number... most people consider 49 or 50 items too many to deal with.

Proven numbers that work well in lists of this type are 3, 7, and 10.

When I first started out, I used to think that.

        But actually, LESS IS MORE.

        Really.

There's a classic account I heard from Joe Sugerman, where he was approached by a watch company. They wanted him to write up an ad to promote their various line of watches

Joe recommended that they promote only one watch in the ad.

They persisted, so Joe wrote up the ad they way they wanted.

        If flopped.

Joe then went on to write an ad focusing on just one watch.

That ad made them a lot of money.

Maybe you should have a report that goes something like this...

..."The ONE fat loss secret that the 'Fat Industry' doesn't want you to know about!'

        In other words, "prove it".

        I can't.

My opinion is based on experience and knowledge accumulated over the years.

You're obviously emotionally attached to your 50 (give or take) diet tips. Good luck...

        • I would lose weight jus' thinkin' about 50 diet bustin' tips.

But if I had to wade through 'em all, I'd pile the carbs back on again thanks to alla the emergency chocolate.

I am not attached to any number I am really confused.

If you google search "fat loss tips" , 20 tips comes #1 then 17 then 10 (picture attached)

I mean , would you pay $9 for 25 fat loss tips book or 50 fat loss tips ? There are actually 4 books on Amazon "100 fat loss tips".

Because author knows that they have to provide too many tips for people to buy the book. And for me ,I want their email.

I am not arguing with you sir. I am genuinely confused and I need to know how many tips to list for best conversion.

Your e-book is free, so the comparison is invalid.

Anyway, you've gotten enough opinions to choke a horse. Split-test the dang thing and be done with it.

        I think he meant 3, 7 10 as in 3, 7, 10, 13, 17, 20, 23, 27, 30.

3 might convert better than 50, depends who's reading it. Someone like me doesn't want 50, would take 3 knowing 10 would be better.

Why do you need 50? Are they so weak?

Every time I want to lose some weight, I do 2 things: eat less, eat more veggies less meat, bread, pasta, sauces. Works every time.

When I look for tips to make my sites load faster, I want a couple of good ones...

Some people, with more patience than me, want 50, even tips that make only a tiny difference, if applied correctly... They're looking at doing the whole thing... I usually compartmentalize... Now it's tips in area B... I know area F and G could be improved, but now I'm focusing only on area B...

        ETC., ETC.

What I'm trying to say is, who are you putting this info in front of? People who do nothing but buy tips? 50 is good 47 is better, if you ask me.

If you're putting it in front of people who want some good tips because they mean businesses, 50 may be too many...

When I look at large numbers of tips in anything, I'm not in buying mode, I'm relaxing, waiting for something or someone and have nothing better to do.

I imagine I'm not the only one... So, 50 at once is too many at times (which might mean, sell 27 tips and use 23 as rewards after they purchase... Which might mean you break down the tips:

Since you brought up losing fat:

27 weight-loss tips for women that involve nutrition and the 23 would be tips that involve pills and/or exercise. Or the other way around 27 with exercise, 23 with pills or nutrition.

  • My view...

A lower number of tips is best - providing they are new, fascinating and workable.

They can be "Do you know?" "Do this and..." "Avoid this and …" or a mix.

Some may feel 50 tips might provide more "value" (if they are ALL unique then they would)

But isn't it likely the audience will say "I've seen most of these before"

Or feel it's just too much effort to wade through them all.

And then I get more leads . That's my goal. Reading the whole e-book is secondary.

    1.

Start minimally with just a headline and opt-in form, then you can easily test your offer. When you get it nailed down then you can add the graphic.

Why don't you try Googling "47 weight loss tips", "48 weight loss tips", etc.

Make sure you do an exact match on each.

I'm NOT saying the answer is definitive. I'm suggesting this is what your competitors are doing--en masse. It's a piece to the puzzle.

I think you'll be quite surprised.

You answered your question when you asked it.

There is only one way to get the real answer... test it.

Opinions do not matter. Not yours, not mine, not anyone's.

Certain things work better than others. The people who know what tends to work and what doesn't can only do so from their own (or others) past experience of testing. This is not their opinion but rather what they know from what has worked in the past. But then again it's only a starting point. No one knows conclusively what will absolutely provide the best response to any given offer prior to making the offer and then seeing how the market responds. Anyone who can do this (accurately predict the future) is wasting their talent writing copy. There is far more money to be made elsewhere.

That said, it is well know that certain numbers are more appealing than others. 7 is one of them and yes, "the one tip" also works very well most of the time. Don't try to figure out "why" because it doesn't matter. If there is any logic to it, there is no point in knowing what that logic is. It's all emotional. You are appealing to the market's emotion of curiosity and so only the "market" can tell you which will work best. Let them tell you. Don't even try to figure it out ahead of time.

You can shortcut the process by using what has worked in the past for others (if not yourself) or you can start from scratch and try to reinvent the wheel. It's easier to start with what has worked before.

Many people lost a fortune in the stock market by "thinking" they knew what the market would do better than the market knew. The market (any market) is always right!

Let the market answer your question for you.
