Let me know the best ways to improve grammar

Hi Warrior,

I am here to take some good suggestions regarding improving the my English grammar. As you know most of the Internet Marketer's communication language is English and there is no doubt about it. English language plays a major role in popularity of Internet.

I am looking forward to have some advice from the Copywriting Gurus. As you clearly understand my first language is not English. But I am so much obsessed with the Online business that I want to do anything to make money online. But lot of time I am going on back foot because of my English.

Like I have a product, which is ready to launch. But still I am dare to release it. OK I outsource the proof reading but still there is hesitation or fear. Because, creating product is not enough I need to get ready for the backfire from experts and obviously first question always about the usage of language. I am afraid a lot.

That is why I read a lot about correcting grammar etc. But I dont remember it properly.

I need some good techniques to improve it and move forward to fulfill my dream.

Regards,
Amer

If I were selling into English markets like the US and Australia and didn't speak English natively, I wouldn't risk my business. I would just hire an English copywriter. (Not me, I took out my sig and still get requests lol).

Setting that aside, reading a lot helps with grammar. You start to develop a feel for what sounds right.

Your best bet is to get a tutor and/or take a class in your country.

If budget is a problem, YouTube has a ton of English grammar videos.

I'd also check out Coursera. I've taken over 20 courses there from MIT, Harvard, Yale, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and others in art history, computers, marketing, gamification, management, programming, etc., for free. I'll bet they have some English grammar classes. Good luck.

    Thanks Jack,

Yes you are right, outsourcing or ghost writing is the solution. But the thing is that they will not exactly provide whatever you expect. I understand I am having with my English but I am having lot of things to write about. My market is not only US. Even in my country all communication done in English only.

Any way thank for the suggestion. I Udemy, coursera, youtube are the best resources. But I am looking for some interactive course where my writing will be polished and pin point my errors and provide a solution to fix it.

Not perfect, but just copy and paste into Word or Open office document, and follow the red line instructions, you may still need an editor or proof reader to render a perfect copy, but this will help you to quickly see some glaring mistakes.

Proof readers are pretty cheap on fiverr.

I'll echo the suggestion to outsource it, but with a bit of a twist. If you don't have the budget to pay someone to do it (or perhaps even if you do), see if you can make a deal with a native English speaker to tweak your copy in exchange for something you can do for them.

My thinking is that if there's something you already do well that you could do to pay for the services of someone who already writes well in English, then you'll get quicker, less "expensive" results by spending your time doing what you do well than you would by putting the same amount of time and effort into perfecting your English, and only then getting the improved copy you need to increase sales.

You want fluency, the real only way is to immerse yourself. I was only able to start speaking French (thinking in French rather than translating from English) when I spent time abroad speaking with native speakers.

The second best thing is music and movies/TV believe it or not. Most courses will have you speaking much more formally than your average layperson. Pop culture gets closer to helping you sound like you get it. Music is a great learning tool, at least for me.

I use grammarly to help me identify grammar and spelling errors. It underlines and highlights problems and offers real-time fixes. It also helps me identify long-winded sentences, which I tend to create, and typos made in blog posts. It's working right now-- telling me that grammarly is misspelled.

      Hello,

The other suggestions made here are good. However, I just want to make a suggestion around improving your English grammar.

If you really want to improve your English grammar then one of the best ways to do this is to immerse yourself in the English speaking culture. I understand it's not always possible to live in a place where English is the first language but if you can at least interact regularly with people who speak English as a first language. This will be of real benefit.

You have other options like tutorials and YouTube videos but this will take you a lot longer to improve your English grammar in my opinion.

    Hey Amer

As others have said, immersion is the key. To help you along the way you could use a tool called Hemingway. Aim for a grade 6-8 reading level.

Keep in mind though that no tool is going to help you if you don't put in the hard yards first.
