Hi there!

My name is David Allan and I've been into copywriting for a few years and started writing about a year and a half or a more ago (mostly email) and I am considering pursuing a mentor or someone to work with/for so that I can receive the brutal harshness of critique and feedback I need to get better.

I would love to hear any opinions and/or advice or if anyone is interested in mentoring then I'm all ears.

I have read a few of the sticky posts and done a few searches but a lot of it seems to be from a few years ago so wondering if all those people are still around.

Cheers to a prosperous 2016!!

  • Read what the stickies have to say about getting started. Pay close attention to the advice on getting better by selling your own products. One of the best ways to learn is to tinker with something until it works.

I never formally hired a mentor, although I did get a few established writers to critique my work 2 or 3 times. So I'd consider just paying for individual critiques from a variety of writers (since even among the top writers, they have different strengths), instead of throwing all your cash at one guy.

You can also post your work here for critique - I posted my first sales letter here a few years ago, got some great advice.

      Thanks Benjamin.

Great idea re: paying for critiques.

I had thought of that and I think that's a great idea and may just go that path.

      Thanks for the input.

If all you want is critiques... yep.

If you want someone who critiques + serves as a true mentor... nope.
