free copywiting for my website blog

hi.

i wanted to run this past you people as i am unsure if i should do it. i have been offered by someone through email, she said she would write articles for my blog on my website revelant to the subject which is gardening and the only thing she would want is to backlink either in the authors bio or in the text framework to some of her other work. these were her words. does this sound ok. the only reason i ask is it seems a lot of work just to get a few back links. i was going to use iwriter but now i am not sure.

It's a bad strategy on "her" part, a bad strategy on your part, and seems to have nothing to do with copywriting.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

Was this person from a website with the word modern in it (I don't want to say the actual website)?

I ask because I have been receiving e-mails from them saying pretty much the same thing.

I need content for my blog so I was thinking about trying it out. I figured if it wasn't any good I just wouldn't use it.

I don't think this is a hoax. In any case, ask her to send you her articles, and then proof read them before posting. Do not allow her to post it by herself.

      Meet her in person.
That's how you do business ONLINE?

If the person in question has a gardening site - she probably wants to put some "guest posts" on your website. The reason to do it is to have backlinks on a site RELATED to her own niche topic.

It's discussed on this forum frequently - people are advised to do it. If you need content on your site and if you have seen her own site and know the subjects are related ....AND if she can write engaging articles for your site....it's a win win.

Of course you don't want to blanket your site with her links - but chances are the offer is for a few articles on various related topics.

I agree - though - YOU post the articles but that's pretty normal in my experience. Have her send them to you and you proof and then post them....and properly include her link as she wants it to appear.

TALK to her (message/skype/email) and ask what she has in mind - instead of assuming there's a problem and asking strangers about it.

I agree with what Kay is saying 100%. Don't always assume that there is a problem before you know the full details. You should always get more details in the first instance from the other party. Then if you're still not sure ask away.

Thanks for the comments and no modern is not in the name sconer. i guess from reading your comments it seems fine. i was just worried there was some hidden secret code or something in the text i was not away of that was going to harm my site so i thought i would ask the experts.
writing blogs posts for me is quite a pain full task as writing is definitely not my strong point so i thought why would someone do it for just a backlink, but i guess if you enjoy writing it is not a problem and a backlink is a good reward as backlinks are valuable

I would steer clear of iWriter/Textbroker. Quality is rubbish.

When I was starting out, I was willing to write for free in exchange for testimonials. I wouldn't have done it for a backlink, though. IDK, could be legit.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

thanks but when you dont know much about a subject it hard to know whether something is genuine. people can sound very honest when you have been emailing them, which i have been. my business gets targeted my many email scams, the past week i have had about 30 emails with invoices attached telling me there are unpaid from companys i have not heard of. the idea is you open the attachment and then you have problems. i am just careful so forgive me.
