Trashing bad copy is easy... How about posting a few examples of GOOD?

We're all copy experts here right? Howsabout going out on a limb and posting a few examples of good sales copy (other than the classics we all agree on)?

This "pop under" page caught my eye with a pretty good headline, which flowed into an intriguing scenario (story), nicely done bullets, etc. All the "mechanics" are there...

As a pop-under from a page that had nothing to do with survival, it seems to be taking a "shotgun" approach as far as targeting is concerned... And the subject matter is a lil cheesy for my tastes. But I can see how it would work quite well if it caught the right eye.

Draws you in. Clever without being "clever"... Nicely done.

This book can SAVE your life…

Any other examples of good copy?

      That's interesting.

It's an active campaign from a private company, so how do you know the numbers?

Laissez Faire Books is a division of Agora. Colm is a copywriter for Agora.

I found that in 45 seconds. (And it only took that long cuz the connection's moving slow today.)

Good copywriters are able to find out stuff. Especially the easy stuff.

You mean the fact that colm works for agora?

Well there you have it folks --Bryan is a good copywriter! That's all there is to it.

... I am too, since found this all out JUST BY ASKING.

Clever Bryan did the "hard copywriting work," while I was out earning a living.

          Thanks!

Dude don't be mad because I trashed the work of your conman compatriot in the other thread. If that copy has any merit, the forum is open for you to point it out.

    Most of Agora,
    Stansberry,
    Livingston, etc., etc., et al

    have good copy.

This one, for the former SPY, however, doesn't warn you ...

buying this book, puts you on a list...readily available. And tells the big and bad people where you live and what you buy.

This is why real survivalists don't participate in these things. It is a typical fear monger copy with the standard appeal to being "protected" from the big and bad...

Yet, the biggest and baddest they fear, the US Gov., collects data, and like Santa, they know when you are sleeping. AND, they know where you live.

I find most of these to be good copy, well targeted with a slight odor of hypocrisy when it comes to privacy.

    From Nextmark:

This list is comprised of subscribers who spent between $49 and $149 on...Includes subscribers to the following newsletters: Mayer's 100x Club, Laissez Faire Letter, Lifetime
Income Report, Outstanding Investments, Penny Stock Fortunes, Technology
Profits Confidential and Strategic Intelligence and Unconventional Wealth.
Although, it is a good example of good copy.

  • Whenever I get a little "fatigued" with the endless hype and nonsense on the interweb.

    Fortunately, I have the antidote.

I don't think anyone will ever beat their slogan "They'll fight over it when you're dead"

  • Sorry to hear that because it IS worth reading.

I may well be the last person on earth to ask for any "technical advice" regarding the interweb.

But the link (on thread 7) is working on my Olivetti typewriter in the copywriters attic - (elastic bands and a piece of wire tied to the telephone pole seems to do the trick).

If you type "saddleback leather dot com" into google you should get to see the site.

Nah - I can get to the site, but all I see is a line here, a line there... No paragraphs... No real narrative copy to peruse... even when I click to the product pages...

I was able to find some narrative copy by clicking on the "Story" tab.

I write mostly long form narrative copy, but there's plenty to learn from short form branding copy, product descriptions, etc. It's all still copy.

And "They'll Fight Over It When You're Dead" is a fantastic way to show personality and bring evoke emotion while pitching the quality of your product.
