If I read one more "4 Tips to Better Writing" blog post, I'm going to scream.

As a professional writer and former writing tutor, it drives me batty to see useless writing advice. I hate to see articles advising writers to "have personality" or "be clear" without actually explaining how. I hate how many writers are referred to the same tired book (Elements of Style). Most of all, I hate how many people volunteer the phrase "just write" as if it's all you need to do to take your writing to the next level.

What about you? Do you share these frustrations? Do you have to do a lot of writing and either hate it or find some part of it challenging? Do you want to get better at writing?

Let me answer your toughest writing questions.

So that I can provide you the most value, please answer as many of the following questions in your response as possible.

1. What is your job title?

2. What kind of writing do you have to do for your job or business?

3. Why? What purpose does the writing serve?

4. Who reads what you write?

5. For you, what is the most challenging or frustrating thing about writing?

6. If there was one question you could have answered about writing, what would it be?

Thank you!
