I've read that starting a blog is an effective way to attract clients.

I'm considering this strategy, as I'm having pretty limited success with freelance site like upwork.

My question - what do you write about? Copywriting? And how will people find it.

Silly questions, but I'm curious. And new.

Some of what I've done included doing some long-tail keyword research in your niche, find out what people are asking or what specific problems they're having, and tailor your articles to address those specific issues.

Obviously, don't saturate your article with keywords! Just maybe use a keyword in the title tag but you don't want to go much further than that. I guess my main point is to keep the article on the topic of the search result, while creating the highest quality, most informative content.

Also, you could go over to Udemy and see what types of courses are being offered on the topic. You can then use the course description to give you some pretty good content ideas for your blog posts.

Going direct is a far better and faster way. You are not selling in bulk. Blogging's not the best way to go IMO. Most copywriting bloggers make more money from selling how to guides and seminars and whatnot than they do writing copy. I wouldn't copy their biz model for anything.

Give me a good list of businesses that use copywriters and a phone.

And I guarantee I'll have my next 6 months booked before you do with a blog. Thankfully, most copywriting hopefuls are scared to death of selling for real. They are more blogger than they are sales person.

    Don't be like them.

Go direct and just do the damn thing.

Blogging is a great way to attract more people on your site and build a reputation for yourself. That's why it's best to choose your niche carefully. If you like online marketing and know a thing or two about this, your content should be about this. Otherwise, find your passion and follow it.
