LinkedIn For Copywriting Leads: Legit

Hey Warriors,

Have a question for all the writers on the forum:

Has anyone here ever managed to getting any leads using LinkedIn?

I'm really big into the idea of diversifying my lead generation. After 6 years as a copywriter, it pains me to admit that to this day, I really only have two lead gen methods: freelance sites, and cold email.

One place that I see mentioned a lot as a potential source of leads is LinkedIn.

It makes sense, as it's the world's biggest site for entrepreneurs to network on... But I'm still not really sure how to work it. For example, I know that they don't let you cold-message users, and if you upgrade to the paid plan, you can still only message like 10 people a month.

Anybody here have any ideas on how to hustle LinkedIn?

    Hi Andy,

    I haven't gotten too many leads from LinkedIn either, but among the things that seem to help some is publishing articles (LinkedIn Pulse) on the subject you want to capture people's attention on and then mention at the end that if anyone is interested in your help, etc.

    You can also republish the articles in groups (or rather the link), and some groups let you promote your stuff.

    I have the feeling that LinkedIn is more useful as proof of credibility (or lack thereof) - so people I meet elsewhere check me out on LinkedIn before we do business together.

    Getting leads from LinkedIn fits into the category of social media lead generation... there's lots of paid training available on the topic.

    Or you can just search Google for "getting leads from linkedin". Plenty of good, free info there.
