Nobody, I mean nobody, wants to read your stuff.

So says Steven Pressfield, the author of "The War of Art," in his new book "Nobody Wants to Read Your S***," which you can download free for a limited time here (no opt-in):

Just to clarify, Volodymyr, you believe that a post with a link to a free book by a respected author on how to improve your writing has nothing to do with copywriting?

      And you believe:

Like Andrew said, Steven's "War of Art" has EVERYTHING to do with copywriting.

Because if you're a REAL copywriter... you know there are times you DON'T want to write, you can't even bring yourself to write, and you'd rather be doing anything BUT writing.

But like Steven says in his amazing War of Art book, some times you just have to "put your ass in the chair" and do the work.

And personally, I've found the best way to conquer Resistance is to just sit down, start going through the process of writing... and soon you find the words come to you a little bit easier.

I have hundreds of copywriting colleagues, and MOST of them rank this book (War of Art) high up on their list of "must reads".

I've read this book that Joe refers to (thanks for posting that link Joe).... and sure, it's not ALL applicable to copywriting.

But I dare anyone to read the part about storytelling in that book Joe posted and tell me THAT doesn't relate to copy.

I think I'd trust Joe's post and Andrew's comment about it before I trusted someone who has 19 posts and claims we need to delete a free VALUABLE book by one of the best writers alive today.

But then again, this IS the "new and approved" forum... so I probably don't know sh*t.

Sure hope the author himself offers a handful of solutions to overcome this problem. Overproduction of faceless online writing has brought us to this point we are no longer interested to read new stuff. We have lost all hope that something genuine and refreshing will come our way. So, we keep avoiding things. I am not ashamed to admit that I write and get paid knowing that almost no one will read what I deliver. Will give this book a try. Thx.

      Write something worth reading.

People will read a unique, well-reasoned perspective they find interesting. People tend to avoid fluffy, regurgitated tropes.

I enjoyed Steven's book as I did, "The War of Art". I'll probably want to read his next book.
