Facebook groups on copywriting?

Unfortunately, one of the several threads that got deleted by management yesterday contained a very useful list of 5 or 6 Facebook groups on copywriting.

Could we please have that list again? I'll be sure to download it off the forum right away. Thank you! (It may have been Alex C. who posted it.)

        Alex,

Just a note that I didn't thank you for forgetting.

I've checked each and any of these. What do you expect to find a client/project here?

I think that a writer has better chances on LinkedIn, Upwork or Freelancer.

These ego-writer-maniacs run their own private freelance platforms on Facebook. Ridiculous. I'm not that desperate.

        ???

I don't know if Mark Pescetti still posts on here, but he's done VERY well by establishing himself as an authority in the Cult of Copy group. If I remember, he's picked up at least a couple long-term clients.

Not everyone in these groups are copywriters. They're business owners and marketers who know the value of copy.

The same goes for this forum. Many of us have picked up clients in this specific forum - copywriting - because business owners visit here too.

Note that I'm not a member of any of those listed groups. However, your answer here shows at least some of the reason why people are complaining about some of your articles.

I gave you some advice the other day that I thought was helpful. I have not been negative at all while others have.

However, if you see those copywriters getting involved in an FB group as "desperate" or "ridiculous" this just proves that you don't have the experience to back up what you are writing.

What you call desperate or ridiculous, we call marketing or building a brand or increasing credibility or other similar things.

Since you are writing articles about marketing, it would be helpful to know what it is from some experience instead of just rewriting as you said you do.

        Mark

I'm fine with you continuing to aim for bottom of the barrel. Less competition for the more experienced.

P.S. - newbs and lurkers, pay attention to what's happening here. The path to advancement in your career depends on your willingness to learn new things. If you already know it all (yet attempt to teach wildly flawed, unsubstantiated theories), you can't really grow into something great.

At the end of the month, we check what's going on related to our bank account activity. Then, we realize whether or not we knocked at the wrong doors.

I'm happy to get the writing leftovers left behind by the rock stars.

Kind regards from the bottom of the barrel. It can be quite cozy here. Yet, I think that who flies high, usually falls deep, but what do I know.

Judging from the drivel you write - absolutely nothing.

Falling deep can happen. Recovering quickly also tends to happen.

You can't operate a real, successful business on a fear of failure.
