You can charge whatever you want.
However, it's up to the customer whether they'll agree to pay it.

Most people won't pay for copy by the hour, but rather by the whole project.

In that case, how much you earn per hour depends on how quickly you can produce finished copy.

I won't recommend charging by the hour. God knows how long it takes to finish the work. Customers want to know for sure how much it will cost them.

At 50 bucks an hour, you'll cream those Fiverrs. Decent persuasion skills should do it for you.

People pay per sales letter. If you have little to no experience in copywriting and for arguments sake want to make fifty dollars per hour.

Let's say it takes you after research, which takes hours, first draft, polishing and everything it takes to complete a real sales letter 10-20 hours.

So, that's $500-$1000. I'm going to be honest. The odds of you making up to one thousand dollars per project with no copywriting skills and as you say you are going to...”study a little.” Well, the odds are zero.

Well anyway, what I would suggest is study really hard. And I'm talking get obsessed with copywriting and all the mechanics of it. Really become enthralled with it. Find a product of your own and write copy for it.

Get some experience that way. That's how a lot of copywriters get their experience by writing copy for their own products first.
