"Looking for a developer" ads flagged on Craigslist

Hello,

Can someone please help? Every time I post an ad on CL "Looking for a web designer / developer " the ad gets flagged. I am not spamming links in the ad and I've even tried 6 different ads days apart with different accounts.

When I post ads for my personal used stuff to sell (ex. spare truck parts) I have no problems. The problem happens when I post looking for services or post services. Any ideas? Am I using keywords that I shouldn't? Should I ad a photo like I do with my used goods?

Appreciate it.

Because you're supposed to pay for those ads--it's the CL business model.

    1) we're not CL support, so I'm not sure how much we can do.

    2) speaking of what we CAN do, it's not much without more concrete detail.

Your post as it stands is kinda like going to the doctor and saying, "I don't feel good. On other days I felt great, but today not so much." Your doc needs to know symptoms, if you ate/did something different, etc. before s/he can make a diagnosis and prescribe a solution.

Same situation here - my ad's getting flagged. Well, what does your ad say and where are you posting it? Have you tried contacting CL to find out?

Me thinks you're applying the wrong rule here, Angie. The post has allowed the OP to have his/her 7th post on this forum. Pretty soon she/he will reach whatever post number is required to access Nirvana and be able to have a link in his/her signature. And ain't that the highest goal in the life of a marketer?

Yes, I know. I'm too jaded.

But I still have the feeling that the OP's after links in signature.

Really why is that? What are basing that on? I haven't posted or been on the forum in months. Look at how long ago I joined . Do you think I couldn't have done it by now?

Do your homework my last post was how long ago. If I wanted to link post in my SIG I would just buy an aged warrior account from blackhatworld.
Seo clerks or fiverr or freelancer or craigslist ..should i go on?

I see you haven't really answered my questions, though...

Because that's how it looks to me when people who joined recently and have only a few posts ask questions like the one you asked, questions that should have been asked somewhere else or question like What is marketing.

And, like Angie, I noticed you did not answer her question, which makes me think the original question was meant only to raise your post count.

@Dabk go trolling much? As a War room member with years here , you how how to find out when my first post was. My account is 8 months and can be verified by a moderator.

Prove me wrong big shot. Your reputation is on the line now. Any professional in here knows you can achieve link posting in days not 8 months.

My post have never asked what is marketing or anything like that. Keep spreading lies and showing your true colors of being an instigator while slandering me. Very grown up on your part.

@angiecolee you asked 3 questions. What does my ad say and where do I post? Did I contact support?

            1. I said I posted 6 different ads it was not one so I was testing the ads seeing what would stick. Thanks for being good at reading and comprehension.
2 You want me to tell you what cities I post in to find quality workers that I use? Sure teaspoon or table spoon.
NY, bstn, India Phil. I'm sure some one with thank me for my sources.
            3. I did contact them with no reply that why I'm here. I emailed them over the past year and response is the same check the help section of the site.
So I call the 800# the say leave an email (yes email) so no help.
I'm insulted you even asked me that question.

Now your "1. We are not CL support" added no value.
            #2 added no value
Your Doctor analogy added no value. I took it as attitude from you and that's why I didn't reply to you.

You're in San Fran. Craigslist is in San Fran. Do you work for craigslist as part or online reputation management?

First, it's DABK. Second, I did not say you posted anything about what's marketing; I said questions like the one you posted and basic questions, like What's marketing, and a low post count make me think someone wants to increase post count to get a link in their signature.

Your anger notwithstanding, those things still make me think that.

Instead of getting angry, you could have actually provided some specific information so people could suggest reasons.

PS You misreading what I wrote is not the same as me spreading lies, is it?

Agree that it's challenging to diagnose the flagging source without seeing the actual ad text. The For Sale section has completely different ad filters and ideal ad formats compared to the Services section. Need to know exactly which Craigslist section and sub-sections your ads are being submitted to that are being flagged.

Wow - OK. Someone definitely pissed in your Cheerios this morning.

    1. You are aware this is the Copywriting section though, right? Maybe a mod mistakenly placed your post in here, because this is typically where people come to ask questions about the content of their sales ads. Content which was not provided in the original post.

    2. I asked simple questions because there wasn't enough detail to be able to make any kind of judgment call whatsoever, hence the doctor analogy. It was vague, and missing some detail that perhaps you may have in your head but is not obvious to the people you're asking for advice.

I don't care which cities you post in. The section matters, though. As craigsposterpro said, different sections have different requirements, which may be part of why you're being flagged. Or you could just have assholes for competitors.

    3. You'd be surprised how many people avoid contacting the people from the help department before turning to the internet. It's simply a question and I'm honestly surprised you read so much hostility into it.

You can interpret my response however you want. If Craigslist were paying me to respond, I'd probably be kissing your ass a little more though.

Guess you don't need our help after all.

@ angeicolee I did respond after I got accused of trying to bump post numbers, so yes my cereal tastes like shit. You didn't help the situation by saying you noticed I didn't reply to you. So you also assumed I was trying to gain posts. Pissing in my cereal further. But I guess I am just surposed to take it and not be human with emotions.

This is my 1st time asking a question in WF and look what happened. That post is in the wrong section, oh my world is ending!! "That guy never posted a question before he's trying to link post in SIG"

Should I be happy, Honestly? How would you feel?Sorry if my post was vague but I did ask specific questions that no one answered. I guess that's over looked though,
    Any ideas?
    Should I try a photo?
Are there keywords I should not be using?

I didn't assume anything about your posts, and assuming I'm out to get you doesn't bother me or affect my business. That's a skill you might want to learn (not letting internet randoms get under your skin), in my personal opinion.

Apparently there's still a miscommunication happening.

I can't recommend keywords you shouldn't be using, because I don't know what you ARE using. If you're testing ads, I don't see why testing a relevant photo wouldn't be worth trying.

I could pitch ideas all day long but considering I don't know who you are, what you do, why you need a developer, your past experience with developers, what kinds of compensation arrangements you're open to, and what you've ALREADY TRIED, it would be a waste of my (and everyone else here's) time.

    Details. Are. Necessary.
    You have not given enough.
As a result, anyone who feels like answering is giving you shot-in-the-dark guesswork at best and REALLY BAD advice at worst.

If you don't feel comfortable sharing details in a public forum, then continue trying to contact Craigslist, or hire a consultant. That craigsposterpro guy might be a good lead.

If you're "Looking for a developer" why not post it here in the Wanted - Members Looking To Hire You or in Warrior Joint Ventures as appropriate?

It will yield you better results and save you the headache of messing with Craigslist.

Have you considered that one of your competitors is doing it? Try posting in some far away city the same ad(s).

A couple of years back, Nate (IAMNAMELESS) was talking on this very forum about how he automatically flags ads on Craigslist... You win the competition more easily if you're the only one competing thinking at work.
