Recommended Plugins for Blog Website on WordPress

I've got a blog running on WordPress and hosted by WPX. It's primarily for writing but I'd like to know what Plugins people recommend for giving my site that added bit of utility and 'oomph'! I'm not very knowledgable about Plugins so any recommendations would be appreciated.

    • W3 Total Cache will most likely improve the performance of your website (loading speeds, etc.)
    • Wordfence Security protects your site from basic to mid-level threats
    • Capture emails MailMunch - integrates with a whole bunch of email marketing software
    • Drive social media engagement with Monarch from ElegantThemes

    Best of luck!

I hate to have allot of plugins so plan carefully and only get good supported plugins for your site. If you use less popular/supported plugins you may open a security backdoor for hackers.

Plugins that is a must have:

    WordFence (Do the setup correctly)
    Yoast SEO
    Google Analytics (Your analytics plugin)
Contact form (I use Gravity Forms)
    Akismet
Caching plugin (i use WP Fastest Cache )

    Hope this will help you.

Yes, you are correct, a few as little is best. Too many resources are taken up from plugins. That's why I wouldn't recommend Google Analytics Plugin. I simply add the snippet and use GA directly. I also find using GA directly within my account is much better too.

Yeah, trying to keep my plug-in count low for that exact reason. I don't think I need a contact form as people can just comment as they need, not really a necessity.
    Thanks for all the recommendations!
