Cold Calling for copywriting clients - who to call?

Hey all,

I'm looking to bite the bullet and do some cold calling. I need clients fast.

I've been at it for a good number of years, but got lazy relying on referrals and a couple bigger clients. I made a couple mistakes. Lost the work I had.

Now I've got nothing, and nothing coming in, and pretty much need to start from scratch.

Anyone have any insight on what size businesses are most likely to have a marketing director that uses freelancers? Too small and there's no budget. Too big and they've got their own department.

    Cold Calling can be really frustrating and time wasting...it is better to communicate with clients on social media, build relationships, and then start your balls rolling...

        it certainly works...it has worked in my case and even with most marketers I know...just because you are a call center CEO doesn't mean you have to promote cold calling

        i am not pushing anybody here...i am telling a hard reality that have worked in my case as well as the ones I know...ultimately it is up to you to decide...

    I've always had success reaching out to mid size local businesses. Mostly because businesses in my area overturn quickly, and they usually seem to last 10+ years. So they're decently sized, but always looking for people on craigslist or using Writing Mills like Fiverr.

    Generally if I see them on LinkedIn, Craigslist, or even when Im driving around I'll save their numbers, and give them a call to offer my services and see where it goes from there. Usually, it works out pretty well and they pay me rates for advertisements, or for web content.

    There's many way to find business but fastest is to have a strong brand first, you need to be remarquable, to be WOW

    With that you determine your niche, who's your ideal client, what client do you like the most, that would be awesome to have

    Finding clients if you know what you talk about is easy, you can warm them on social network but really the faster is to call them. Introduce yourself, and how you can help them, filter the bad prospects (not interested, cheap, difficult to explain to, negative personality, etc..) and understand the problem of the good one.

    Offer them a good solution, a LEAD SERVICE that will really help them and price a bit higher in price than the competition.

    Be nice, be their consultant, offer them solution but don't be needy, just engage in conversation explaining how you can help them, talk about benefice, what it does for them and be friendly, laugh a lot and have the best days you can think of.

    You'll be amaze how money you can do in a few hours !!!
