I am only looking for about 800-1000 words per copy.

I can send you bullet points on the the topic. The topic name and and price so that you can write around that.

The Warrior Forum is a DISCUSSION forum and members are free
to comment on topics as they feel is appropriate or of value to other
    members here.

Some will probably cry foul about your ridiculously low-ball offer.

    Others will defend it.

Still other will privately message you and beg for the work.

    What's the problem?

The problem is that the poster knows already that the
      offer is ridiculous.

I would normally advice anyone (as I have done before) to bypass
commenting on such offers, but for the poster to say that if you
are not interested in the offer you MUST not comment is a little
      brazen.

        Hey Guys,

I know that some of you claim to get 5-10K for your copy, and thats fine. I am paying for just words. Not the mind control style of writing. I hope that you guys feel better now that you've said your piece.

I am looking for someone that is willing to do this and rather you believe it or not, someone will be willing to do it. So i reccomend that you guys relieve your insecurites somewhere else.

Take your ridiculous offer, to some low level article writer on a lance site. You are in one of the most respected forums and in one of the most respect sections and are insulting copywriters that are senior warriors.

You want a sales letter that does not control the mind and does not control the emotions of the buyer? Are you serious? LOL

Good luck on getting your article writer!

Dee... the ridiculous part of what you're asking for (aside from the slave wage) is that you are looking for "just words..."

And you somehow expect to make money with "just words?"

With your mindset, I hope you enjoy poverty.

    Vin,

He doesn't expect to make money with "just words"...

He expects to fill the letter up with fodder, tell potential buyers that it's "professionally written copy"... All they have to do is throw it up on to Clickbank and they'll make a million bucks...

He doesn't plan on making money with it. He plans on convincing some poor schmuck that they can make money with it.

o i reccomend that you guys relieve your insecurites somewhere else.

No mind control style of writing?

So if you don't need any emotional buttons hit... no persuasion or desire... someone that knows what keeps your prospects awake at night... knows how to display an objection and answer that objection... forces them to take immediate action...then you don't need a copywriter.

As Mel mentioned you need a digital point person or someone like that. This thread is laughable.

Just cut and paste as needed:

      Hey Guys,

I am looking for copy for some mini web site pages.

I need basic home page copy describing products for forex, woman abdominal work outs, twitter, and acne. I intend to sell the sites for around $300 each.

I need something quick and fast, because I just want to get this done and sell the sites. It's ok if the content is just fair, but I do need the copy to at least be easy to read and free of typos.

Even though my budget is just $25-$30 per page, I'm hoping to get about 800-1000 words per piece of copy. I know the copy won't be sales copy, but it needs to include a basic "Buy Now" button.

I will send you bullet points and the price on each product.

This project may be a good fit for someone looking to make some quick, easy money, since I don't expect that you'll be able to do any real research for each topic. If that sounds like it works for you, please contact me by PM.

I plan on building at least 5 of these web sites each week, and will pay you 100% up front, if we're a good fit.

      Thanks,

      DGA

P.S. I really can't pay you more than $25 -$30 for each page.

I am not going to defend nor condemn the OP, but what I will say is...

5 x 800-1000 word peices of average content should take no longer than 5 hours to produce.

Most people who state that they make $500-$5000 for the same are full of themselves

$150 for a day or two's work is more than most people on this forum would make in a week!

What the OP does with the sites is nobody elses business - he (or she) is offering work.

I can't believe how much arrogance floats around this place

      Daniel...

Let's see how I can say this without any feelings getting hurt.

What happened between us that night was a one off type of thing... I was going through a weird period in life, and I'd had a drink or two too many.

And it's totally not you, it's me. I'm just not attracted to dudes.

I hope there's no hard feelings. And I'm sure we can still be friends (but seriously, you've got to quit calling me at 2:30am crying every night, that gets really old).

Don't worry though, there's some guy out there just waiting for a great guy like you to come into his life... It's going to happen for you buddy.

    Bryce,

I understand where you're coming from... but there's something you're missing.

Good copy takes a lot of time.

The average sales letter takes me 2 - 3 weeks to produce.

You can't tell me that you can research a target market... analyze the competition... write a killer headline (something that takes hours by itself) and write a whole letter in an hour.

    It just can't be done.

Maybe if it was just a rambling blog post and you already knew the subject, sure, you could do it in an hour... maybe less.

But ask any writer... it takes them longer to get a piece of work that size needed for publishing.

Now... I understand the OP isn't looking for "knock your socks off" copy.

But what he wants are things that LOOK like sales letters... so he can turn around and sell it as a complete business... as Scott said above.

We've all seen way too many people get burned by these unethical scammers... can you blame us for being a little unhappy with somoene not only insulting our work but trying to make us accessories to what is close to theft?

      Hi Daniel.

My post wasnt meant as disrespect, but I tend to look at things "as they are" and the OP clearly stated that he wanted only "fair" content. He says "quick", "fair" and "simple" copy with no mention about anything looking like a sales page. This to me means a quick article style section of content between 800 and 1000 words, with no layout planning, etc.

You are right about the "typical" workload for a good or great sales letter, I have just completed 2 myself, and it took 2 weeks. I agree with you totally.

In regard to the intentions of the seller in relation to the selling of his sites, well that I stay out of. I am neither the internet police nor am I a consumer protection advocacy. What he does is obviously establish websites, and sell them for a profit. These days there are thousands of people doing this, and some are rediculous.

However buying a site or a business online is no different from buying any other business. The buyer has the responsibility of doing their due dilligence, and with the free tools and reseources available these days, it does not take long to determine if a site is worth the asking price or not.

I say that if the OP wants a writer to write his content and he is offering up front payment, let him hire a writer who is willing to do the work. The two of them will enter into a relationship that is nobody elses business, and we will never know the sites nor the results.

It just amazes me that people who have no intention of doing the work, and should be too busy to even respond to the post, actually have the time to shoot the OP down without real justification.

No disprespect intended, just my observation.

        Bryce,

        No offense taken.

        A couple of points though...

First... here's a quote from the OP:

"I am looking for a copywriter for my sales pages."

Now, maybe there was a communication error here... but I took that as a sales page. I understand, though, things get confusing sometimes on the 'net... so you could be right.

The other thing that I think really got a lot of people offside was the way the OP communicated his post. This is, as Brian said, a DISCUSSION forum and if you post a discussion on an open forum anyone is free to comment on it.

        It's that simple.

If you don't want that to happen... there are other ways to get a person to do the job for you.

Regarding what he intends to do with them... you are right... it's none of our business.

But personally... I wouldn't feel comfortable basically helping someone rip other people off... which is essentially what the goal is here with the sales pages.

I know a guy who bought a "business in a box"... which consisted of a crappy ebook and a horrible sales letter (which he later paid a few grand to have rewritten).

Sure... maybe it was his fault for not doing his due diligence. But does that excuse the seller who blatantly tried to rip him off?

I don't have answers to these questions... I'm just pointing out that some of us are sick of people trying to con others. We can't stop it from happening, but that doesn't mean we have to like it... or even suck it up when it's on our turf.

There's a lot of different ways of looking at this... I acknowledge that.

And I totally understand where you are coming from.

Just thought that I might explain where we're coming from.

        -Dan

          Hi again Daniel,

Totally agree with the fact that this is a "DISCUSSION" forum and there was no call for that request in the OP's post.

Yeah I think the OP just uses the word "copywriter" as do many people, as a label for someone who writes content, any content. Not too many people separate "Article Writer" and "Copy Writer"

I understand where you are coming from with being sick of people getting scammed. This is one reason I developed EZYTRAK, but in doing so I realised "you cant help everyone" and every time you shut one conman down three more will take his place. Much like terrorists!

Thanks for your responses Daniel. It is always good to have a civil and level headed DISCUSSION on the WF, LOL.

I'm reminded of the boxes they put on furniture, that look like televisions and stereo systems.

You're not actually selling the television or the stereo system. You're selling a place to put it. And the furniture being sold, even though it doesn't actually have a working television or a stereo system, is indeed a place to put one.

Likewise, if you have a slapdash bit of writing that looks like a sales page, and you stick it on a website... the website is indeed a place to put a sales page. The writing looks like a sales page, but it isn't - not really. It's just a mockup that looks like a sales page.

What the OP is doing is essentially buying a cheap as hell television to bundle with his TV stand. It isn't a high-end plasma screen HDTV, but it gets picture and sound - and any old piece of writing you put on a website will probably convert some non-zero number of prospects. You could probably just write "Buy My Stuff," stick a Belcher button under it, and some people - not a lot, but some - would buy.

It's a little uncharitable to assume he's going to sell this as an actual high-converting sales page. We don't know how he's going to sell it until he puts it up for sale. He can, indeed, sell it for a fair price and with fair disclosure. Just because some people don't is no reason to tar and feather the OP.

2-3 weeks for a sales letter? Crikey. I'd shoot myself if it took that long. I try to bang 'em out in 2-3 days. I find I go "off the boil" if it drags on. One day for research. One day to rough it out. One day to get it down. Works for me. But then I've been writing copy for a very long time (some say too long). Often I write the thing in my sleep. No kidding. Then I get up early and regurgitate it. Writing for Kern at the moment. Suck on that. :p

That's the difference between just another copywriter and a true craftsman. I too take 3 weeks minimum to craft a sales letter. Anything less than 2 weeks and I'd have to shoot myself.

30+ pages in a few days? That's nuts! Using that schedule I could put out a pulitzer prize winning novel every couple weeks.

You saying I'm "just another copywriter" huh? And you're the "true craftsman"? That's a bit arrogant isn't it? I like to work fast. I drink and smoke and drive cars fast too. Just the way it is. I once wrote twenty three 30 second radio scripts in a day...and produced them. Took 14 hours and some were character reads as well. But they were pretty good.

If it was to take just 1 day to write some "meager" copy for you that would fill your needs this would mean my take home pay would be all of...$3.33 an hour based on 9 hours of writing.

But, that's only if you go all out and throw in that extra $5 which would really mean oh SO much to me

Since I am absolutely overwhelmed (and am jumping for joy) over the offer don't hesitate to *immediately* PM me because working for that wage means that this is WIN-WIN-WIN all around!
