I am almost through with the sales page. The niche is a gambling niche. Roulette to be precise. I want to use blue but someone suggested i should use red since the roulette wheel is red and gamblers(buyers) are familiar with the colour. Pls copywriters, should i use blue or red?

If you're referring to using red as the background over which you'll add text, I wouldn't do it.

You wouldn't be able to read black text over red, and if you make the text, say, white, you'll still have readability problems. Reverse text never helps readability, btw.

Stick with black text on a white background. You can use red as accent colors or a border color - but make sure that your copy gets read before you get fancy.

I wouldn't ~ especially red for the background. In small doses (say, in graphics or header text, for instance, or as a narrow border color) red spices things up. As a background it can actually drive readers away.

I think it's really up to you to test it out.

But I guess that if you use Warrior Forum's Red tone, you'll drive visitors away because it's a little to 'loud'.

Red is not exactly a soothing color, but gambling niche has a harsh feeling to it anyway. It may go well with it... try both colors and trust your gut! Cheers

I assume you're talking about a typical black-on-white sales page with colored borders.

If that's the case, test it. There's also green, which is also a roulette and casino color, as well as the color of money. If you try that, I'd go for a darker felt green. I think this would attract me more than red.

Red is a no no for background. Use white or black.

Red is bad for just about anything except accents, what is your prospective "customer"? is color blind.

Can you do it? Sure. But take the advice provided here. Red tends to be a difficult color for people to absorb. After all you want the copy to POP not be difficult to read! At the end of the day copy sells and your design should augment the copy not detract from it.

I have an article you might find helpful on the subject. PM me for details.
