Marketing Consultancy - any ideas?

Hey
After a lot of thought - I figured that the best way to gain more experience as a marketer and fuse my two passions (marketing and the wonderful world of NLP and Hypnosis) was to solve a major problem in my niche:
Most hypnotists have dreadful websites and don't know the first thing about internet marketing!

So, after partnering up with an extremely talented programmer and web designer, I have launched this page at my new website:

Hypnosis With Nathan Thomas Hypnotic Marketing - Clever Ways To Make Your Hypnosis Website A Profit Pulling Machine

What do you think of the copy?
I'm quite excited about this venture and really want to make it work - so I am open to any advise and ideas.

Cheers, and thanks a lot!
Nathan

I think it may be hard for visitors to reconcile your youth in the photo with the four-figure fees they're going to quickly spot.

I'd go with no photo. Or find a photo where you just look older.

And just another point on the look... I'd break up your paragraphs more. Too many paragraphs lengths of 4, 5 and 6 lines. That's intimidating to read. You want more 1, 2, 3's.

What will help you do this is chopping up overly long sentences like these into several smaller sentences...

Whether you're selling live training events, online products, or you just want to market your clinical practice, you must surely have begun to realize how much you can gain from harnessing the untapped goldmine that is the internet.

Whilst we all hate those obnoxious 'get rich quick' scams - the internet really can be a veritable gold mine if you are offering real value and know how to get the word out and attract the right customers.

Myself and Neville, our expert programmer whose portfolio includes everyone from the military to multinational corporations, will show you how to streamline your copy and design, so that your products and services outsell your competition by dramatic margins.

    Hope this helps.

    My personal opinion:
I don't like the colors - it just doesn't scream "oo hypnotism" these are more "exciting" colors and I personally tend to associate hypnotism with relaxing -neutral colors. I think that maybe a mix of darker and lighter colors - a darker blue background and a very light gray middle area Since your angle is making hypnosis profitable - perhaps add some light/dark green colors into your header instead of the yellowish/orange. - I am really not a color expert these are just some immediate thoughts.

In addition, I would work on your about me - probably make a small teaser that links to an about me page instead of just the little box. The page can include a listing of awards you have gotten, your education, your experience - what superstars? If you can't say, I would tell people - these are well known, well respected individuals and as always I vow to keep my clients personal information private, so I cannot release names. Sounds mysterious.

I would also put the "welcome to box" on the top, as the goal/idea of your blog isn't immediately identifiable. You go here and see hypnosis and then look to the left and see links like "marketing" - it is kind of confusing

      Thanks for the comments!
I'll add the spaces, and definitely consider linking the about me section to a bigger posts. The people I have trained with certainly do have a lot of name recognition, and I do have personal testimonials from some of them which it would probably be wise including.

As for the colours, I'm not much of a colour expert myself - but I will certainly think about what you have said.

Thanks a lot for the comments,
      Cheers,
      Nathan.

Don't steal my hypnotic marketing ideas Just kidding. There's plenty of room for everyone!

Your letter is very "I" based - you need it to be more about the reader. You can talk about what you've done, but just make sure to explain why it's important for the reader. You're not really doing that right now, it just feels like bragging to me.

Also, get rid of the picture, like others have said. You look too young. I have the same problem so I'm very picky and choosy about the pictures I use. Granted I'm plenty old enough to know how to market businesses... but I look a lot younger than I am. I suppose that'll be a blessing one day

Also, if you're planning on using hypnosis as your main selling point, really sell the idea that you're a monster persuasionist and can talk anybody into doing anything at any time.

Now, you know as well as I do that you can't really do that with hypnosis, but it really helps sell yourself.

    #1 Reason for Website Failure.

    Your Eyelids are Getting Heavy...
You're falling into a Deep Trance...
Not A Good Web Design Experience!

Imagine the number of performances and events that never come your way simply because you have a boring website.

You know how important your presentation is when you perform your craft of hypnosis.

Even the largest of distractions have to be overcome by your knowledge and skills.

The same is true about your marketing message and internet presence.

You want your clients to have an amazing experience, you practice and study everything you can find to hone your craft so you can perform amazing things all the while giving the look of being effortless.......

Paul and all others -> you are quite right.
I have taken the post down, and put a few lines up in it's place, as I edit it behind the scenes.

I will remove the photo and replace it with a better one (although, some part of me still feels that it is a shame that the way you look matters so much).

I genuinely feel that I have a lot to offer the market. The post was completely factual. I have had some big successes - but it has been a long time coming and I still greatly lack total reliable consistency with what I earn - hence the desire to gain practice whilst helping others in an area which I am familiar with.

Even though I could probably afford to hire a decent copywriter, I wouldn't want to. Again, it's about the experience and practice for me.

How else will I learn to write copy good if I don't keep trying and, of course, sometimes falling!

Your comments are greatly appreciated - it means a lot that you take the time to help out.

      Cheers
      Nathan.

    Nathan,

Visitors will miss a niche targeted picture.

Maybe you and designer can research a bit more on color theory, I bet there is a color scheme highly targeted to this niche. Not sure if brown/redish/earth tones is the right approach. Digg a little deeper on this.

I may have missed something here...

But unless I'm mistaken you're basically selling consultancy for hypnosis websites/businesses.

My question... how can you offer a valuable service when your own website is so horrible?

Building up your copy chops is great... just don't do it on your client's dime.

      Hi Dan and others
I have many a website - most of them much less um 'horrible.'

I am also extremely confident that I could do a great job for anyone in the hypnosis niche - there is no doubt in my mind that I am offering something of great value here - perhaps I am just not presenting it in the right way.

Thanks again for all the help
      Nathan
