Where Can I find a Copy Writer?

Hi, Brand new here (so please be gentle with me)...

I have a single page of copy that I send out to people announcing a new free entrepreneur website to get people to join. Would like it professionally rewritten.

Can anyone recommend someone that can do that? What is their background and who have they trained with? What is the cost?

Thank you, appreciate any tips.

Todd

There are some excellent copywriters here on this forum, so it really is a great place to start. I have learned a lot just reading what all these guys have to say. If you are just browsing, I suggest checking the classified section for warriors for hire. If you are seriously seeking someone, I suggest posting your price range and time frame etc so you will get more qualified responses to your query.

There are many highly talented and experienced freelance copy writers that you can find through freelance websites like Guru.com. You may tell your budget and there are copy writers who can work within the budget. You may call them for future work also. Selecting one among the many may be a challenging task.please give a try.Best of luck .

      I'll put this nicely.

Warriors are encouraged to do business with Warriors. That's why there's sections for Warrior Special Offers... Classified Ads... Warriors For Hire.

You can find copywriters on Warrior Forum that range from $97 to $35-40,000 for their professional help.

You're suggesting people look elsewhere to hire a copywriter instead one who is a member of the Warrior forum... maybe even a member who contributes positive useful information on a consistent basis.

A lot of people would frown on that behavior... it's definitely not a member friendly behavior.

Elsewhere... who knows what you might get. It's likely to be badly written copy with places like Elance unless you have a good idea and spot the high-quality freelancers there from their portfolios.

Warrior Forum... you can find plenty of other Warriors who can tell you what Warrior freelancers they'd recommend and who they use.

      Food for thought.

You're in the Copywriting sub-forum of The Warrior Forum and you're suggesting people go to sites like Guru??? "Selecting one among the many may be a challenging task". Exactly. So why recommend it when there are plenty of good and affordable writers here?

No offense to anyone on here who gets work through Guru or Elance, but I have never had much luck finding competent writers on those sites. With a few rare exceptions, of course, these resources are great examples of "you get what you pay for," IMHO.

You can pick quality copy or cheap rates, but typically you can't have both. I agree with other posters in that the Warrior Forum is an excellent place to start your copywriter search.

Thanks for the welcome, Mark! I couldn't agree with you more. Those bid-for-work sites drag down this profession and make it more difficult for qualified copywriters to command professional rates.

    I don't think that's the case.

Most clients worth having aren't on Elance, price shopping for copywriters... and these clients love nothing more than to cut big, fat, juicy royalty checks!

          Guys and gals.

It was a joke. This guy saw the price and my guess (and guess only)
is he filled his shorts and went away or to some outsourcing site.

I RARELY (like never) write copy for anyone else and this is why. I don't like the whole feel of asking for work from others. You want me - you come to me, not the other way around.

Mark - I remember my 3rd,5th,7th,8th ... well you get the idea ... teachers
telling me to be nice and not such a smartass. At some point I stopped trying to change and just be me.

Want to work together - great we can make some money - you don't ok - I'll keep the money myself.

          Thanks and good night.

Sure, I knew you were being a smarta$$... but from your first post to your "I'm crushed" you asked the OP to PM you... something he can't do with 6 total posts.

Even if he wanted to work with you or talk further, you gave him no other options to contact you.

Besides... a single page of copy could mean 1 printed out page... or 50 of them. For a 50 page rewrite, you might have been offering the bargain of the year.

How is it asking for work if you're answering someone's request for copywriting help?

              Mike -

Really? Ok let me explain it to you.

It's totally different for a guy to email me or PM me and ask for me to work on a copy product then post it here so 50 people from third world countries can PM them about writing unlimited copy for $4.50.

              That's the difference.

And Mike I didn't provide any other contact info cause this guy is like my ex wife - long gone.

How would you know who PMs the guy? Or what quotes he's gotten?

You don't promote yourself as a copywriter anywhere in this forum.

Do you even have a webpage or website where you offer a copywriting service?

If you're not a copywriter for hire, then why did you even bother to post in the guy's thread?

                  Mike -

I am a copywriter for myself. I don't take outside projects much if at all. Not worth the headache most times to be honest. If I am going to work for a jerk I want to work for the guy who is going to pay me the most (that would be me btw).

Now how do I know people are PM'ing him? Because, he like a bunch of people here who as for copywriters, get a million PM's from people selling their sales letters for $97 a pop. Outsourcers, people who can't speak english, and a few that can (that's the really sad part).

Look you can help him out Mike. I am sure he is willing to pay thousands of dollars for your help - that is why he has posted here since when ... oh yeah he hasn't.
