COPY WRITING

We're hiring a copywriter for a full-time in-house position. I've scoured the web for good places to find talented copywriting job boards, but I've come up empty.

Then I remembered this forum.

If you were looking for a full-time gig, where would you look?

Just a theory...

But I'm guessing most people on here (like myself) enjoy being self-employed way too much to go back to working for someone else.

Some people thrive on a "corporate structure"... but my guess is this forum wouldn't be the best place to find them.

Also, your ad seems a little contradictory.

You're looking for people with a "proven record of success" who are "open to being mentored"... kind of strikes me as confusing.

Also... I don't know you (at all) but when I think "best copywriter" I think Clayton Makepeace... Gary Bencivenga... Dan Kennedy... and John Forde.

Saying you're better than all of them may put people off (unless I just mis-read your ad).

Personally, I can't see why anyone who had the kind of track record you're after would want a position UNDER someone else... but maybe that's just my ingrained hatred of working for others kicking in.

IMHO you will be best off finding guys with potential, who don't have a massive track record yet. If I were you I'd be checking out universities in your area etc, talking to lecturers there to try and find their top students... maybe even poaching from other agencies (if a possibility).
