      This letter is so over-done and copied it's not funny.

      I've done a video critique of it.

      But here's the news...

      Fat Loss 4 Idiots is no longer killing it.

      The market has moved on.

      Write a letter is this fashion and you are begging for failure.

        OMG! Not only is it juvenile, confusing, and cutesy - they insult their prospects up front!

        Okay - I'm fat...I get it. But why am I an idiot?!?

        I agree with Harlan. Hilton, if you put out a letter like this you can sign off on your future forum posts, "STILL not selling anything."

        Also, Mark's right - the only reason to not list your budget is if you know it's low and no self respecting professional writer would accept it.

        Not for nothing - and no offense Hilton - I don't know that this is you, but is anyone else here sick and tired of "clients" writing ads that read, "PROFESSIONAL COPYWRITER wanted to write a 30 page magalog selling this great new ebook on dietary supplements. Must have experience and proven track record - prefer writers with stats of past sales - PROS ONLY NEED APPLY...with at least 7+ years experience and an online portfolio."

        Okay - sound good so far right? then you get to the last line:

        "Budget $25.00."

        Dude - you must be joking...nope - they're serious.

        And royalties? "What are these 'royalties' you speak of?"

        Man, that's like going to the emergency room for an appendectomy and telling the surgeon you're only going to pay him a "10 spot" for the procedure.

        Any copywriter that accepts these terms - shame on you. You're ruining it for the rest of us. What the h3ll is happening here?

        STOP IT! Gene Schwartz' corpse is getting mighty tired of rolling over...

          The original was a work of genius.

        When I did my first weight loss ad I studied your critique and the video you did of the successful ads weight loss ads you'd done. It was the one where you flipped the pages in the big folder. Watched, paused, rewound, learnt.

    Weight loss and get rich quick are the bread and butter of direct response. I have a collection of over 500 benefit phrases used to sell weight loss products. Including "Finally, I was able to cross my knees." It's such a fun product line to sell.
