Copywriting veterans! I need your help... (how to sell a job?)
For the most copywriting books that i have read, they talk about "how to write, to sell a product" etc, which is less specific about recruitment ads.
I understand that as a copywriter i have to make an interesting and informative ad but i am finding it difficult to understand what should be my approach for a recruitment ad. Are there any guidelines set in the advertising industry for recruitment ads?
Some research that i have already done
- Target Audience : Undergraduates who are studying through distance education mode, Or can get permission from their college and have ample time to go for a job and gain professional work experience while studying.
- Their problems:
1. Because they live in a small town job opportunities are almost not available for undergraduates
2. Whatever job opportunities that are available DO NOT belong to their study field. - The benefits they will get in this job
- Get professional work experience, related to their college subject.
- Work on practical real world projects.
- What I want the Ad to do
- Encourage them to understand the importance of work experience and make them WANT this job.
- I need only those candidates to apply who are more interested about learning and not earning pocket money
Please suggest me
- What style/ tone do copywriting gurus recommend for recruitment ads.
- Is it okay to write this ad as a notice? Some like this:
Please suggest me ideas, guide me on how i should go about it.
Considering English is not their first language, (In India, but they do understand English very well) i can't use common slangs/words used in western world.
