Need A Copywriter - Sales Letter Half Done and Would Like Someone to Flesh it

Greetings warriors,

I'm looking for a copywriter to help me with a sales page for a product launch called "Renren Mastermind". It's a membership course that teaches TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) tutors in China how to take advantage of Chinese largest SNS site Renren.com to brand themselves and promote private tutoring services. TEFL in China is a thriving market now so I'm expecting a good launch and a good copywriter to make that happen.

A good news is that I have just finished a copywriting excercise and completed some key components of the sales copy, so I'd appreciate any savvy copywriter to give flesh and blood to the existing skeleton and make it alive.(Just a lame metaphor)

So I'll just list what I've written now and give you a brief overview so that you can estimate the amount of work you need to get done.

(Wait, this list is from an article called "60-Minute Naked Truth Salesletter Formula" and I owe much credit to Micheal Fortin and his blog http://www.michelfortin.com/dean-jac...etter-formula/)

1. Start with the purpose of your letter.

2. Reasons you are writing to this specific person.

3. List the features and benefits of your product or offer.

4. Top 10 questions and/or objections.

5. Answers to those questions or objections.

6. Explain the guarantee or how you are removing the risks.

7. The most important part: the call to action.

8. The result of their taking action.

9. Add an element of scarcity or a sense of urgency.

10. Finally, testimonials from satisfied customers.

So basically I've completed a non-polished, dry but solid 2000 words content based on the above list and would love to find a nice copywriter to finish the rest.

I'm offering $500 to get the job done. So if you're interested please feel free to contact me at fanyunding(at)gmail(dot)com and we'll talk more.

Last I heard in the forum from a fellow member and copywriter who charges $3,000 for a sales letter, he believes a sales letter that CONVERTS requires approximately 40 hours' comprehensive work, including market research, prospect profiling, writing and editting repeatedly, etc. Given the work that's already done, I believe we're talking about 10-15 hours' work here, which means a rate of $33 - $50 per hour. Hope this gives some reference.

I understand that $500 might not be too much for a sales letter, but given the solid ground work that's already done for you, I'm looking forward to hearing from any qualified copywriter who'd like to give this a try.

Thanks for reading. And again, my email is fanyunding(at)gmail(dot)com. Please include some sample sales letters.

Poisoning the well is a special case of argumentum ad hominem, and the term was first used with this sense by John Henry Newman in his work Apologia Pro Vita Sua.[1]
The origin of the term lies in the ancient practice of pouring poison into sources of fresh water before an invading army in order to diminish the invading army's strength. In general usage, poisoning the well is the provision of any information that may produce a biased result. For example, if a woman tells her friend, "I think I might buy this beautiful dress", then asks how it looks, she has "poisoned the well", as her previous comment could affect her friend's response.
An even simpler example of poisoning the well is by tautology and definition, or circular reasoning. This is similar to equivocation, where the use of words communicate a confusing meaning (often called a subtle lie). For example, if one starts an argument with "Everything I say is correct, no matter what you say", the well is poisoned and nothing a person says (be it true or false) will matter by the initiator's definition."

Here's an example from a previous post:

"At best you can only hope to get a complete newbie copywriter just starting out at this price point."

    Here's another:

"Use caution in who you hire."
I have to agree with this.

    That was uncalled for.

    Fanyun,

A lot of copywriters don't like to do re-writes because half the time it's easier to work from scratch... seriously.

One route you might consider is getting a professional critique. Depending on the copywriter you'd be looking at $150 - $500. If they're good they'll be able to hammer you with a whole bunch of points to improve.

You could also post it for free critique in this forum but to be 100% honest... most of the time the pros don't have a lot of time to spare for freebies.

I really like how thorough you were in posting your offer and how you are respectful of our time... which is why I'm posting this.

If I were you, though, I'd post what you've got so far so people can evaluate it and figure out if it's a job they're willing to take on.

    Just some thoughts.

For me, it is the other way round.

I hate to write a sales letter from scratch.

I like being pampered with all the material and being given a platform wherein I can improvise or rewrite the sales letter. I like to do it because I get a better understanding of the clients business ideas and vision.

It gives me a platform to help a client better. And it saves me a lot of time doing research work.

I have a ready questionnaire which helps me help a client better.

    It depends on personal choice.

Fanyun, I would love to help you out.

I like doing rewrites too. Sometimes the letter is a real mess
but sometimes a tune-up can improve the letter a lot at not
too much expense to the client.

Letters in some niches and at higher price points (compared
with competing products) often need a lot more time investment
to write well - ie. so they "convert". How much time a
decent letter takes depends on the nature of the project.

    Kev,

As Loren's chief mechanic... I can say it's probably a headline shaft that's impinging on a bullet point stack.

We can fix it... but the part won't be in for another 3 - 6 weeks.
