I need a copywriter - Suggestions?

Hello all,

I've never hired a copywriter before, so I'm hoping to get some guidance, or perhaps even some recommendations.

What I'm looking for is copy for a WSO I will be offering in a few weeks time. I'm not looking for the overly long sales letter, but catchy titles with the inclusion of some video (which I will provide), etc.

Can someone give me a rough idea of how much I can expect to pay for this? Or perhaps services someone else has used? Or do you provide services yourself?

Thanks for all the help!

Cheers,
CcK

Find out how you can produce powerful, fist-pumping profits with a rock-em, sock-em sales system created by a former robotics engineer who rips apart winning sales copy to see what makes it tick so she make yours even better…PM me for details

  • Hope I can give you some advice...

First off, how much it is going to cost you will depend mostly on your budget, really. There are copywriters both in and above everyone's budget range, unless you've got a six figure budget right now. Then you can hire whomever you want.

Yes, the quality of the copy you'll get is largely dictated by how much you pay for it - after all, if someone can get you proven results in your niche, why would they charge $100 to write a salesletter when they can get $10,000 just as easily, for the same amount of work?

But that doesn't mean you can't find someone to work within your budget. You just have to do your due diligence - whether that budget is $50 or $50,000.

To get any real recommendations, I'd suggest posting a bit more here about what you need. Most WSOs are in the IM market, but not all - so giving us copywriters an idea of what you're selling and who you're selling it to, while it doesn't have to be specific, can be very helpful in finding qualified people and helping us refer you to qualified colleagues, if we can't help directly.

A timeline/deadline would also help. Some copywriters here are booked months in advance, others have a spot in their schedule for next week, others have time today. Letting us know what kind of a time frame you're looking at will help weed out those that simply don't have a place in their schedule to fit you in.

If you'll be needing other copywriting work on the same product in the near future, consider getting it done now as well. Emails, squeeze pages, etc. can all be worked into one large project that may end up being less expensive for you in the long run, since the copywriter only has to do the research ONCE.

By doing that, you'll also increase the number of copywriters who are willing to take on your project, because many don't take on smaller projects like individual WSOs for scheduling reasons.

I hope that helps you find a qualified copywriter. Depending on your budget, timeline, and niche, I may able to be of some help. Check out my portfolio (in my signature) and shoot me an email if you have any questions. Yes, I do write content, but I started as a copywriter, and I'm still a copywriter first and foremost - so do let me know if you need any more help!

    Cck,

IMHO copy isn't as important for WSOs as for other methods.

Your offer is *far* more important.

If you just want to brainstorm some titles and stuff, you could probably just talk to a few people and bounce some ideas around.

The WSO market is interesting and unique in that copy doesn't seem to make a huge difference there... and depending on your price point and the amount of people interested in your offering, it may not make financial sense to hire someone.

Not saying it's NOT worth it... just saying make sure you crunch the numbers before you do.

  • Another good point Daniel! And it's very true. Copy can make a difference, but depending on your offer it may not be necessary.

If your budget is small your better off to write the copy yourself and then pay some pro copywriter anywhere from $300-$1000 to give a critique of your sales copy. Basically just write it like a rave review by a newspaper reporter that is being published in a newspaper.

If you just found a product you were ecstatic about and your a reporter, what would you write?

Then just write that, get it critiqued by a pro and you will probably get twice as good of copy as paying someone a few hundred bucks to churn some out.

Id suggest either gladly paying a large amount of money to someone who will do the job properly or doing it yourself and get someone who knows how to do the job properly to critique it.
