We're Paid For Value NOT WORK

I HAVE A COOL TIP AT THE BOTTOM IF YOU DON'T LIKE MY RANTS ; )

This is something Eben Pagan brought into play and I thought about it this morning....

I work...4 of 5 hours a day on average and I'm pulling in 5 digits/month....after 3 months of really diving into IMing.

My partner's literally been working...9-10 hour days for the past year and he's fine with it...why?

Because I'm valuable. I'm not bragging in any way but I'm worth millions of dollars because I can build systems and business models that make A LOT of money...

So this brings into mind...my new #1 rule in growing your business:

Leverage your work!

To do this it's very important to understand a few things...

TIP!

1. ROI/Time .... I'm not sure if I'm the first person to make this(I've never seen it.) but I'll be clear...this is the formula to millions of dollars.

2. Leverage points...what are the 3 actions you can take today that will effect your business the most? 3 actions that will completely sky rocket your business....answer the question ; )

3. Find the best ways to use your money...aka...find other people to do your busy work : p

We work ONLINE! Not too complicated when I say we have access to the entire world. This let's us run a business dirt cheap...from traffic generation to outsourcing. Work efficiently and get others to do your busy work...who likes busy work anyways? I don't!!!

If you don't use this DAILY..I'll be blunt..you're wasting your time and money and you're preventing yourself from quitting your boring/stressful job and replacing it with a free lifestyle...

5 figures a month! Dude, if we were in a prison full of copywriters and internet marketers and we got to pick our cell mates, I would pick you and be your bitch.

Thanks for the tips. Early in my corporate career I thouht ROI was one of those ethereal concepts that good account managers and salespeople have a knack for figuring out and then exploiting on behalf of their clients and prospects. I understood it and how it made sense for SMBs, but never truly grasped its application to my daily life.

It took working for myself to truly understand that ROI applies to everything you do. Once you apprehend the concept, building systems (business or personal) to support it becomes second nature.

    Great tips.

You're dead right about the busy work. Nobody likes it, and it seems like a vortex sometimes. Much better if you can outsource.

    Great points you made!

I actually like working. I don't like it when I have nothing to do but play.

I'll agree with the fact that no one likes to do all the hard work. So it's best to outsource it while you come up with creative ideas on how to spend the money you earn.

But wouldn't you need to work hard initially?

I am not really fond of work. But, what I do is not considered work by me. This is because I love it. If you really enjoy what you do then you can spend countless hours on it and not even realize it.

Work? Not even if I know what that means?

This reminds me of an argument I've had with a number of people over the years
while I was still firmly entrenched in academia:

Some people felt that all that reading and research (and even writing) time we spent
wasn't really "work" because we presumably enjoyed it. Same goes for going to
conferences, most of which I had to pay for out of my own pocket.

My take on that... as soon as my pay is tied to me performing any particular action,
it's no longer play. It's work. It's time I can't spend doing the reading or writing or
whatever I want to do personally, for example.

Not that there isn't necessarily anything wrong with work, and enjoying it is way better
than not enjoying it. But don't say it's not work when the money flow would stop if you
      stop doing it.

        You're absolutely correct.

No matter how much I like working, if it didn't pay I'd seek out one that does.

Anyone who says they work just because they love what they do, come and see me... I have plenty of unpaid work for them to do.

And it's exactly what they love doing.

    Yep, That's true.

The main thing is to keep the main thing, the main thing.

Focus on value, and you'll get value.

Anyone can wax the floors, but not anyone can do valuable things like writing a copy or making a sale.

there are just two choices : spend money or spend energy
You pay...and not work so hard or...
you do not pay and work hard...
anyway, esp for newbie, I recommend to do it yourself first because you need to save money for ur business and also, you can understand the real system of business that you are working in by not outsourcing it

On top of understanding how the business is. You also can improve you writing skills by doing it yourself. There is really nothing wrong with improving yourself in all areas. I am going to start learning more about Wordpress and its installation. I just had to outsource some of my work in this.

Do you need anyone to carry your tennis racket or caddy for you? I could use the dough!

Seriously, I like your attitude. I think too many people have been told by "guru's" not to spend a dime you don't have to. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you can see where investment is necessary. I would add this to your advice.

Outsourcing drudge work is important. Investing in areas that you aren't good at, like SEO is important. Internet Marketing is still one of the last frontiers where the cost of entry is so cheap compared to the return. Any good business model has an investment analysis associated with it.

Do your home work, learn the business so you don't get taken advantage of by every Tom, Dick and Harry that has an all-in-one IM program and outsource the repetitive tasks. Where else but the Internet can you start a business with no brick and mortar, no in-house employees and no boss with a hangover and bad breath.

Spend a little, make a lot!

Someone I respect once told me a client doesn't pay you for your work, he pays you for your "mind time."

    For example:

You're getting paid not just to write a sales letter, but to clear your time - and your thoughts - of anything but this project. This way, the work you do is focused and complete. Polished.

(This is especially true with retainer or flat-fee-plus-royalty clients...)

Thought you'd get a kick out of this :-)
