Comments like that and the constant posting of the "copywriting vs articles" link in every other thread make me think la de freaking da...

There's a reason this is one of the least viewed forum sections - and it may be the arrogant attitude of those see themselves as sitting on Mount Copywrite and looking down on everyone else. If a question is beneath you just move on to high brow discussions of long vs short sales pages ...again.

This person is asking where to find high quality writers with experience in home maintenance - and he gets solicitations and attitude.

The answer is simple - go to high end freelance sites and you'll find excellent writers with experience in the field for those willing to pay them well.

        There's other sections?

Seriously though, with the difference between copywriting and articles I'm concerned that this forum could be clogged with article posts. A lot of the people here are refugees from Michael Fortin's old copywriting forum, and if this one becomes full of article discussion instead of copywriting discussion then there are few other places for copywriters to turn.

Ever wondered how copywriters work with their clients? I've answered that very question in detail-> www.salescomefirst.com

I've said this before and I completely agree.

You'd think some people are raking it in the way they raise their noses at people who dare to mention anything but copywriting here.

Reminds me of lawyers. Maybe there's not much difference between these two kinds of people any more.

Maybe there should be a new article only forum, no copywriters allowed, except for those who haven't got a stick up their behinds yet.

  • Amen Kay... Amen.

I don't understand what is so bad about content writing anyway, I've moved into doing it now alongside my copywriting services because I'm good at it, and it's fun. The constant reposting of that link is seriously driving me crazy!

Anyway, Robert - like Kay said, high end freelance sites could be a good place to start. Unfortunately, most high end content writers stay away from those sites like their lives depend on it, because the quality of clients there is often as "lacking" as the quality of writers.

I know several content writers in different specialties, and of course myself. <Bragging> I am a good writer </bragging> but I would have to do some research to write quality content for your niche.

Unfortunately I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who works in your niche, but I could probably find someone with some digging - or go with a writer who can research effectively.

    Best of luck!

(And sorry about my peers, we sometimes forget that *other* people come to this forum sometimes )

I'm with you on that, Kay and Cherilyn! I also do both content writing and copywriting, and enjoy them both. I also write quite a bit of "hybrid" content (i.e., sales-y content but not outright sales letter), which works really well.

Also, premium content writing pays pretty well on an hourly basis so it's a great supplement to "real" copywriting, certainly until I've managed to bump up my rates for sales letters to that famous 2K level...

I also have a question: What are those "high level" freelance sites? All the ones I have found are far from "high level" and I didn't realize that high level ones actually existed...

      Or am I missing something?

      Thanks.

  • Rezbi - I'd be up for that! I don't have a stick, but I do have a small soapbox... As long as soap boxes would be allowed in the content forum, I'm all for it

And now, lets </hijacking> and help Robert find some good content writers!

Since I'm the one who posted the link to the correct forum for locating article writers,
(in the warrior for hire section under content),

I'll gladly take it every one of those misguided comments were directed to me.

I can understand how you feel that way.

I'll still post the correct link
the next time I see it because of the same reason I did this time.

Incidentally it wasn't any of the reasons you suggested,

but to help him locate the article writers he was seeking
(where their services are offered in the "content section"
of the warriors for hire forum.)

Actually, in my case, the answer to this is no.

At least your post was constructive and pointed him somewhere.

And posting that link for the OP's post was valid (a lot of the times that link is posted is like all the other answers - how dare you, sir!?)

I was not addressing any one personally but just the general tone here.

You have a one year old thread (locked, at that) that has been given as an answer 25 times in this section this year...often to new people asking specifically about copywriting...in a section that prides itself on originality.

Nothing wrong with the OP's advice in that thread - but the impression it may give new posters is "you don't belong here". If everyone new to this section of the WF is stepping on toes - maybe it's time to move the feet.

I am responsible for mentioning this thread quite often - usually with a pointer to the third post - as the thread mentioned is not simply about article writing - it is also about how to find a copywriter.

I find asking people to read that thread a lot quicker then restating it - after all there is a reason it was made a sticky thread.

I'm sorry if this upsets you Kay.

  • Elisabeth, to be honest I've never found one. I thought perhaps Kay could recommend some, as if they *did* exist, they would be a fantastic place for him to start.

But the only places I could think of were places that used to be higher-end (like rentacoder and GetAFreelancer (now Freelancer.com)) - and they're all junk now. $1 article jobs and $1 article writers abound.

Oh I can't wait to see who I tick off with my new whitepaper... I promise, it is coming soon. LOL!

Hope you found a good writer, Robert. And Doug, along with the others that wasn't directed at you so much as the whole tone of the forum - I'd gone through 4 threads so far, and seen the same link and same attitude towards the OP as someone a little further down than your post showed.

I guess it was a bit of frustration at my own peers looking down their noses at the other types of work I do
