Need A Press Release Done. Should I hire someone here?

I hope I put this in the right area of the forum. I need a press release written for my
new ebook just recently launched.

Should I hire someone here to write this for me or is it simple enough to write it myself.
Once its written, where can it best be distributed?

Thanks fellow warriors for any advice here. If there's an article or ebook giving
advice, I'll gladly write it myself.

Write it yourself, as long as the product isn't nonsense. You know better than anyone else what it's about.

Otherwise, hire a professional. Ha ha.

    You can write it yourself...

But like most things in life... a professional will probably do a better job.

I've heard good things about Tam Thompson and Hans Klein, if that helps.

Where to distribute a press release depends on its use ...
    • to generate inquiries from reporters looking to write a magazine or newspaper article
    • to create content for SEO
    Each requires a different strategy.

You have to ask yourself, is your ebook newsworthy? If you think media outlets are going to be interested just because you wrote an ebook, you're dreaming. They barely pay attention to actual published books, let alone ebooks.

They're only going to be interested if it's so mind bogglingly earth shattering that it makes news, or is tied to some event people are talking about in the news already.

I'm not sure where this quote originated, but it's a good one ...

"There are no boring subjects, only boring writers"

A good copywriter can make the copy for any worthwhile e-book interesting.
