If you look through the first 5 or 10 pages of threads in this section, I'm sure you'll find more than one thread about this subject, or something very similar.

My favorite course when getting started was Brian Keith Voiles' Ad Magic.

If I had to do it all over again though, I'd probably start with reading Claude Hopkins, Victor Schwab, David Ogilvy, and John Caples... all to get the basics and theory down... then I'd go straight to studying winning sales pages, writing them, and having a coach critique them.

It's real easy to become a walking encyclopedia of copywriting knowledge, while at the same time you couldn't produce a winner if your life depended on it.

I can't tell you how many people I know who are obsessed with copywriting theory, they talk a good game, but when it boils down to it... they couldn't motivate a dude dying of thirst in the desert to buy a bottle of water.

Studying winners and getting feedback are most important... for me anyway.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi

I have to say the late Gary Halbert inspired me. His "motherload" collection contains a selection of his finest intro's, bullets and call to actions. You can tweak them to your taste.

I also like the stuff put out by Scott Haines. It’s easy reading, simple to understand and practical.

    Thanks

    Rich
