Where Have All The Good Guys Gone?

I am sorta new around here so I have been going back many pages to find any gold nuggets I may have missed out on.

There is A LOT of great advice from people I do not see posting as much as they used to.

I looked up some of these people and they are the real deal (meaning they are actually making a good living at this).

My question is why have they all almost stopped posting? I see one or two posts here and there, but nothing like it was a couple-few months ago.

I realize people get busy, but I would assume these guys to have been busy for the last couple years, yet they posted more often.

Has something happened that turned these pros off?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but the advice posted deep in this forum is WAY better than what I see now (no offense).

What scared these guys away (if anything)?

thanks

Ron

    A) It's not as fun as it used to be. It gets tiring trying to talk shop when folks regularly insert themselves into the conversation solely to argue or pike something.

    B) Lives change... For my own part, I've been keeping myself neck deep in projects all year. Couple years ago, not so much.

    C) Facebook...

Let's raise the secret CW bat-signal and see if we can attract a Kyle Tully, Kevin Rogers, or a David Raybould...

    Best,

    Brian

Ha, I was hoping someone was going to pick up on the VH connection

You are one of the people I refer to. Along with Mike H, Rick Duris, Raydel and a host of others.

It seems there is not many actual copywriters here and I have even
noticed people giving advice to copywriters that are not copywriters.

Ah well, it is just a forum. I don't spend much time here but when I do
it is digging through old threads.

Even the fights were better back then

Yep... I've seen many a wealthy marketer post something insightful on here out of the goodness of his heart, take a bunch of lip, then go away and hardly ever come back.

Some goobers like to treat this place like an ego fest... like a bunch of little arguing high school kids...

It DID used to kind of seem like the Copywriting section of Warrior Forum was where just a handful of fun people hung out and helped eachother out.

I assumed everyone knew this but just to be 100% clear, my self-serving post was meant to be obvious and at once, ironic.

Sure... the greats of today are hanging out with me... but the whole post was meant to be cheeky.

but I'm sure you all knew that.

Hi Jason. I did see some older threads with people going head to head because of their bulbous egos. Some of that was not real bad (just guys a little full of themselves)

The bad ones are the poor guys who wander on here and ask a question only to be shredded by what seems like the copywriting inept.

If someone is on the attack all the time they have nothing to offer. It is very easy to attack and very hard to help, in my opinion.

I am not saying that guys who make $5000+ a sales letter should be helping the rest of us, but these guys who are lucky to get $100 bashing people?

      c'mon man

One of the best posts that highlighted this was someone who asked Marlon Sanders for proof of earnings on a WSO ...

Yeah. You'd think they'd think to use teh Google before diving headfirst into Stupid.

      But. No.

Sometimes I suspect some of these folks are using their DVD drive as a cup holder...

What's a DVD drive? I do like the cup holder on my computer, though.

When I'm done using it I just press a little button and it goes back in.
