A spot for the CLIO Awards - "honoring creative advertising in package design, print, radio and television". "Healthcare" category. Entries close today. Bear in mind this is targeted at Advertising creatives - "sick" lot that we are - not the general ("I'm offended") public. (for the record - I like it)

"We will contact you if the results are positive".

What is the current interval for Clio winners losing the client for the ad they won with? I think it used to be like eighteen months of flushing the client's money down a sewer ...creatively.

John, one day I'll read something of yours that is positive. :p But yeah...I know what you mean. "Creativity" doesn't always mean that the ad will work does it.

I think it's confusing - but I guess I'm not the target market.

    It's a bit grim.

(and I missed the 'piss-poor' joke first time around ... what a muppet!)

The Clio ad is the kind of thing they were teaching when I was in college taking advertising courses...

Everything was about being, "clever", cute, plays on words, and 'Big Ideas' (Donny Deutch's CNBC show title thus derived.) Results were measured in many ways, but usually not in sales figures ...odd, I thought at the time.

Many students were writers who didn't even like advertising and had little business sense. That ad meets all the requirements of ad agency production.

    mal... i like.

its smart, and easy to 'get'.

this is for the best of the best in the ad world.... they're speaking ONLY to art directors, creative directors, copywriters etc... that all work in ad agencies....

bruce... this has nothing to be measured... this is a promo piece for the awards....

I went to one of the top advertising schools in the world (miami ad school)... not sure where you studied advertising.... but where i went to school EVERYONE was a TOP GUN student of advertising....

and you CAN measure sales figures advertising.... most of these agencies are responsible for tens, hundreds of MILLIONS in sales for their clients....

lol... how do you think big brands make money?

I hate it. Reminds me of drug testing, which is never a pleasure. No matter how innocent you are, you're marked unwillingly. Then again, you have to prove yourself to pass. I still hate it.
