How to write thin emails?

COPY WRITING

May sound like a silly question but is there a tool (or specific email marketing program) that formats the emails into thin lines before breaking to a new line?

Every email marketer that I receive email from all follow this format...

In AWeber, which I use, when you're typing you just hit "Enter" when you want to start a new line and it keeps that formatting.

It's the same thing that most word processing programs do these days (even the simplest ones like Notepad), although if you copy and paste something from one program to another it doesn't always keep the formatting.

  Create a table in the aweber at 300 pixels wide, 1 row by 1 column, with zero border.
  
  Then just type inside that table.

Do it in a notepad mate and then copy/paste - will work like a charm.

You can use this, if I recall...

-> TextPad - the text editor for Windows

It's been a while since I've used it so not sure how to set er' up.

Alternatively, use notepad and type a "width guide" across the top like so...

01234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789

...so that'd be 50 characters email width. Can't remember who came up with that, but thought it was handy at the time.

  I use Getresponse, which does it automatically to 60 characters
  if you want it to.
  
  In addition, I've developed a habit of eye-balling narrow widths.
  I sometimes write on NotePad++, which has a guide at the
  bottom telling you how many characters you've used in a line.
  
  It's really a matter of setting up a "hard return" at 60 characters
  in whatever software you are using. I have a website script
  that does it too, but I never use it because it's an extra step.
  Called TurboZiner, I think.

I just looked it up and figured it out.... I've wondered for a long
time if there was an easier way.

In NotePad++

1. write your text normally in the window
2. open a new window (ctrl-N) and type "60" in it
3. copy the number "60" (or line length you want) into your clipboard
using Ctrl-C
4. go back to your tabbed window where your text is and select
all (ctrl-A)
5. go to TextFX in the top navigation menu
6. Select "TextFX Edit" and scroll down to the bottom of the submenu
and select "rewrap text to (Clipboard or 72) width"

(72 is default the default rewrap length - steps 2 & 3 tell how to set
it to 60)
