It has been a decade since I've updated my work, Remote Influence.

I would appreciate any input you might have on what, how and whatever regarding what you'd like to see or can contribute to the work.

IF you consider making a contribution, even if it is critique or suggestion, I'll be sure to include you and a link to your website or blog in the NEW version, fair enough?

Some of you people who are NEW to copywriting might find some of this information useful.

Here is LESSON ONE for everyone, and it contains my formula (E of A = H of R SoM + P0I)
for influencing someone by remote means.

I'll gladly send the lessons one at time to anyone who provides some feedback and/or questions. The later lessons are pretty graphic intensive and I may have to zip them.

Thanks for your time and attention.

gjabiz

PS. Here is the explanation of the formula:

The Effectiveness of your Attempt to influence someone
remotely is equal to the Harmony between the
Recipient’s State of Mind and the Pre-Occupational
Interrupter used to gain attention.

Your target is pre-occupied. The effectiveness of your
attempt to persuade this person is going to be determined
by your ability to “get inside” the circle, the bubble of
pre-occupation. Then you establish rapport.

PPS. Here is the first appendix. I have examples here, including a post card I did for Paul Hartunian and one of Paul's ad which he had run successfully for almost a decade.

I disagree. People have no trouble getting attention. Most Flash site scream "Look at me" like a sugared-up three year old.

I've said it, Ogilvy said it first, it's how you reward attention after you have it that counts. Everyone knows AIDA, few know how to transition between the A, the I, the D, The A.

Thanks for you response. I appreciate disagreement. I don't know everything.

I do know from my own ancedotal experience and from other people that FLASH sites, instant video or audio or pop-ups get my ATTENTION to leave.

Perhaps I'm rare. I STRONGLY DISAGREE with you. I'm not talking about "people getting attention...like a sugared-up three year old"...I'm talking about COPYWRITERS getting the kind of attention that begins a sales process.

FLASH sites, or any of the gimmicks don't get my attention, they do just the opposite. However, you may be very attracted and influenced by such sites. And you may have constituents who think FLASH is a good attention getter, but you wouldn't be a customer or a target I'd waste my time on.

ATTENTION, the kind that begins the sales process is NOT easy to get. But I do appreciate your disagreement, we find in copywriting there aren't universal answers that fit everyone's "cup of tea".

Again, MY attention can't be rewarded if I'm gone, hit the back button or the X in the upper right hand corner. NO sir, FLASH and 3 year olds, especially the sugared-up ones cause me to turn and run. Therefore, there is NO chance of getting my reward. My reward is the escape.

I do agree that many lack the skill and knowledge of transiting through a sales process.

PS. What you are referring to is something I call "distraction attention". Kids screaming in the supermarket, car horns, birds flying overhead...FLASH sites, which I have no real interest in. Distraction Attention. I'm talking about SALES attention.
