Flash Video sales page versus Video Player sales page??

I was wondering if anyone had experience in using the flash video version of a video sales page where you are forced into watching the video and then a order button pops up later in the video versus just a regular video player where the user has to actually hit the play button to start the video and can see the progress indicator as it goes.

has any one tested the 2 and seen a higher conversion rate in either one?

I understand what you're trying to say...

I think you'll find most video players are flash based,
(excluding wmv & quicktime) it's just different players using different methods of control.

I've heard many people say that "no controls",
    convert better...

But I would say that's dependant on the niche, the quality
of the video (presentation) and the offer.

I think most IM'ers get pissed off when they cant control
the video and would rather add at least the play/pause controls.

I'm currently testing a video player, play/pause, no border,
    play/pause auto hide...

(As part Flash Developer I create my own custom video players).

and it seems to be working really well.

A 15%-19% Conversion ratio with short sales copy,
is pretty good if you ask me.

If you want unlimited video hosting and control over your video player
without any tech skills... I recommend using www.vimeo.com and use their
    "upgraded" (paid) service...

    it's like $60 bucks a year...

AD Free, Full control of the controls and I think it said
you can re-direct after the video... show YOUR related videos after play...

    or show nothing at all.

I'd probably use it, but create my own video players
and use amazon S3 for hosting (SOOoooo cheap).

    anyways...

    all the best

I am going to test a new slide show with the video player and see what the results are.. if conversion is low I will have a flash vid made.

      thanks for the info!
