Gary or Clayton: which better for a B2B copywriter?

COPY WRITING

If you were a B2B copywriter (I'm guessing that none of you are!) and you had a choice between buying Gary B's 100 Seminar and Clayton's materials, which would you buy?

Granted, neither of them are B2B copywriters!

My impression is that Gary's style is bit less over-the-top/a bit less hard sell than Clayton's, but I'm sure you'll let me know your opinion, diplomatically

  Sorry Harlan but I have to disagree with you.
  
  Just because neither one of them wrote/writes B2B copy doesn't mean a copywriter can't learn how to write better copy from them. Both of them are considered in the top 3-5 copywriting guru teachers out there.
  
  To use an analogy... it would be like saying you can't learn how to write better bullets from John Carlton because he didn't write copy for some internet marketing ebooks and you're an IM copywriter. To think that way would be robbing yourself of learning from one of the best teachers (and bullet writers) out there.
  
  Top-quality copywriting technique is top-quality copywriting technique, regardless of the niche.
  
  Knowing how to adjust your tone and selling angle to better match your target market's hot buttons... that's one of many things that a master copywriting teacher (like Makepeace, Benvencivenga, Carlton, etc.) can teach you.
  
  It doesn't matter what niches they wrote for if you're trying to learn how to write pro quality copy.

I've seen both, and although Gary Bencivenga is a great copywriter, his seminars are long winded, a lot of conversation. As a trainer Clayton is one of the best and his material is detailed and spot on for learning all you need to know.

Harlan would like for you to buy his training ;-)

Bob Bly is known for B2B copywriting.

I don't know if he has a course about it, but he
has a whole bunch of books on copy and direct
marketing in print.

He's pretty highly regarded in the field so you might
want to check his stuff out.

If you want to do white paper marketing, which is
a big deal in B2B, check out Michael Stelzner's
stuff.

Loren's correct. Bob Bly is a highly regarded and experienced B2B copywriter.
