How To Write a Presell Page for a "How to..." Keyword???

I want to sell an info product and have zeroed in on few "How to" keywords that the product solves. But my primary concern is how to write a presell page for a person who is looking for information and not a review of that particular product.

In fact, the visitor might not have heard about the product at all.

I believe that the traffic from a 'how to' keyword is targeted. But I am totally clueless on how to sell the product to them.

Many people talk presell pages in terms of product reviews. Should I also review the product in my presell page??

Thanks.

The key is not to "pitch" them on the product on the presell page, but give them at least part of the information they're looking for... and then hook them into an email sequence and/or free report, where you have more time and space to presell the product.

My 147 page report Presell Mastery teaches you how to actually WRITE presell material in a way that gets people warmed up and primed to buy... it's not something you can learn from one forum post (hence the 147 pages)... but remember, the key difference is that preselling is NOT pitching.

So if I were targeting a "How to" keyword, I'd take one of two approaches:

    (1) Give them ALL of the information they want, and then entice them into an autoresponder sequence where I give them more of the same, while preselling the product, or

    (2) Give them SOME of what they want, and get them onto an autoresponder sequence for even more, and presell them in the emails.

I like Pauls advice a lot but how do we use this method with "one and done" items?

Perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by "one and done" items.

Where your list is effectively useless after a one time purchase because it was a one time problem that the prospect needed a solution for.

What kind of 'one time problem' do you mean? If u get a bit creative...u can always market to your list...some product that could help them out in some way that was related to what they already had. They may need it, but just don't know it yet,.

Well I suppose, but I'd like to keep my list interested in my emails by offering them things relevant to their interests.

You could also try that sandwich page thingy...that Eben Pagan uses(ed) for his Double ur dating site.
    It'd go:
squeeze page offerin them 1 big key killer bit of info
landing page where u give that 1 great tip which is a video and/or few paragraphs in text form.

Then entice them into clicking the button/link which will lead on to your sales page e.g "i have x number of additional tips/secrets that <do whatever it is they do> that could be more beneficial ( or when combined with tip i gave you) i.e more profitable etc that along with the <type of tip you gave> make up my product system/formula or w.e
Have a link to continue to sales page

And of course...the follow up sequence for those that didn't go for it right away....to convert them into buyers.

I really like Peter Eben's internet marketing model. He's a great teacher, who can really put some "ah ha" eureka ideas into your head. Do you have any teaching materials from him? Have you tried them?

I learnt that from Ryan Deiss...who learnt it from Eben.

Thanks for the reply guys..I am inclined towards what Paul and Zero said.. but I can't work with AWeber until i see some SEO traffic which will take few weeks..

So here's my strategy for the time being:

    1. I will give away a little bit of information in the article that I am targeting for the KW phrase..

    2. Then I will link to my 'story page' where I will give away 2 secret tips.. I will tell them that the product is filled with more such great info and how it helped me and blah blah..

My reasoning: The two tips that I will share will work somewhat like a sandwich page..people will love them and their interest might increase..

Also, I came across "The Kiss Test" by Eben Pagan where he advises to share few great tips/methods/secrets in the page itself. So that people will believe that you are indeed a knowledgable person and their trust on your increases.
