Yes. The one I hand selected, typed-in, and assembled for myself.

You may have a mistaken understanding on what swipe files are for. A whopping lot of people are looking the the answer from the back of the big book of selling your stuff.

Actually, John was pretty specific. My custom swipe file is larger and more specific than anything that will ever be sold... and it won't ever be sold either.

Here's what I suggest based on what I've done (and continue to do).

Find successful salesletters that relate to your niche or similar niches. Find successful ones that are selling a particular product or service which you want to sell in the future.

Find successful salesletters that are written to your own natural writing style.

Save them based on who wrote them... the media type... or what the great idea you want to be able to review again (i.e. great bullet writing).

Use your swipe file to brainstorm ideas before you sit down to write copy.

A custom build swipe file is frequently a good idea because you remember where stuff is and why you saved it.

An off-the-shelf one... you're relying on someone else's opinion. There are some solid ones for sale but again... your own custom built one can wind up being a superior collection.

      My 3 cents,

      Mike

Gary Halbert Mother Lode Collection and Carlton's Swipe Files are fantastic.

AWAI had a 50 Hall of Fame Letters that were awesome in imo.

And everything Matt listed is bang on too (although I still haven't got Million Dollar Mailings...my next X-mas present to myself)

The honest & direct answer to your question is unfortunately "No."

    1. But you can go to: http://www.hardtofindads.com/home Amazingly, it's free. Hundreds of great ads.

    2. Look up Lawrence Berstein. Info Marketing Blog | Direct Response Marketing | Copywriting He's got a subscription service with access tons of winning pieces. All indexed and categorized. If you value your time, it's a godsend.

Occassionally he's shares some gems on his blog.

    3. Occassionally, copywriters will sell the originals of their swipe files on eBay. I once bought a copywriter's entire stash of 10 years worth of priceless junk mail for $300. I was happier than the proverbial pig in...

    4. If you're really serious about copywriting, here's the best one: WHO'S MAILING WHAT! Archive It's founder is Denny Hatch, author of Million Dollar Mailings.

      Google.com.

Sounds like a wiseass answer, but it's not. Know some of the legendary names in copywriting...ESPECIALLY those who've been working since the onset of the Internet Marketing explosion. Carlton. Bencivenga. Makepeace. Halbert. Read around and you can find tons more.

Then, google up stuff like: "John Carlton swipe file," or "John Carlton sales letters," or "John Carlton ads." Sub in names of writers you want to look for, obviously.

Will you find a single, free, comprehensive site with all your favorite copywriters' ads hand-plucked and waiting for you to download and save? No.

But spend a few hours clicking, searching, cutting, and pasting, and you can have a magnificent swipe file of dozens and dozens of really great pieces by all your favorite sales masters, absolutely free.

Just takes a little legwork. And I've never found a book or product for sale nearly so excellent.

If you can't hand pick -- you won't be able to pick from a collection.

You may search and replace their product or service for yours, sure. But it is likely not going to be the Hamburger Helper for sound judgment many hope for. These guys don't select the right letter for the situation, what they gravitate to will be the easiest to do a search and replace on. I'll save you some time: Who Else Wants [Insert Here]

Even Hamburger Helper requires real hamburger. If you don't even know what hamburger looks like, you have no business using Hamburger Helper.

In other words, there's help. And then there's mouth-to-mouth, CPR, full life support ....and a brain transplant. Most people making this request don't need to Kick Butt, what they need is a whack on the side of the head.
