Copywriting Crash Course???? -Need Your Help Pros-

Hi. I just recently finished my Sales Page (ESL CLASSROOM GAMES), and I asked for some Warriors to critique it for me; and it would appear that I need help with COPY WRITING and / or I need to hire someone to Write what I am trying to say...

But, I learned from scratch how to do the Sales Page, and I think that with some studying and trial and error... that I could also become a good copywriter.

So if you could give me a Crash Course on CopyWriting that would be Helpful to myself and all other warriors reading this post.

Thanks.

So, you just decided to start copywriting today and want to learn fast? Well, that's okay, gotta start somewhere... but what background in either advertising or human psychology do you have? You kinda need at least one of those to do well as a beginner, unless you want to spend some time learning them from scratch.

I don't mean necessarily a professional background (although it helps), but what kind of study have you put into either advertising itself or the the psychology of persuasive writing? If little or none, I hope you don't plan to be able to take clients right away. The pro copywriting skill set isn't learned in a day, or a month.

I don't have an answer for your question, as I didn't take any "crash courses" and am not the best person to ask about that. I put ten years into studying all sorts of things that relate closely to advertising before trying to do copywriting. Not saying you gotta do the same, but that's just where I'm coming from.

      Here's something you'll find helpful ...

"14-Point Web Copy Analysis of a Winning Site"

      http://www.surefiremarketing.com/14-...ysis_ebook.pdf

Written by Yanik Silver, this book is a good starting point for anyone eager to learn copywriting. It breaks a popular type of web sales letter into 14 component parts and explains each.

WOW. A lot of color, fonts, centering...all of which DISTRACTS from your message.

First lesson: Who are writing for? Apparently those people who are teaching English as a Second Language, so the jargon, ESL is ok to use.

Where are these people located and where will they find you (how do they come to your website...what are they SEARCHING for?).

What do they WANT? WHY? What do you offer they can't get anywhere else?

The whole pitch above the fold is about making more money...

The site is hard on the eyes, unprofessional. Why don't you write a simple letter to a FRIEND who is interested in teaching English as a second language?

Forget the hype and the RED and ellow, and write a simple to understand letter about what the games can do for them.

Have you sold this product at 97 bux? If NOT, then it is a lie and deceptive. If yes, then where are the testimonials? The proof? The ones you used should be featured sooner and be more prominent.

What is the ONE big promise you are making regarding your product? Make that the headline and opening.

For me, it is a lot of HYPE, poorly structured, amateurish and since I know many people who do ESL, they would all be turned off by this promotion. Most of them are professionals, who do it not only for the extra money, but for the reward too.

Many are teachers already. They would feel dirty and sullied if they bought from this type of a promotion.

Now, this is my opinion, let your results be your guide. But, it is very easy to test, to do an A/B split sening half the traffic to this mish mash mess or to a LETTER addressed to professionals offering a professional service.

PS. What is the point of the video? It told me nothing useful.
