Do you know how to track sales letter conversion rate with Google Analytics?

I use old method to track my conversion rate.

I track number of hits in my sales letter.

I track number of hits in my download page.

I track my download hits.

Conversion rate is hits in sales letter divided by hits in downloaded page.

If my download hits is more than 200% of download page hits, then it is time for me to move my download page because it is already found by freebie seeker.

Do you have anything that can simplify my life? Any recommendation will be great!

On your download page, you need to insert the following tag between the <head> and </head> :

    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">

this will stop search engines from crawling your download page.

I already done that but sometimes it's just happen. Actually I want something that can give each user an expired download page so I don't have to bother moving product download page.

Any good recommendation? (low cost script is better)

Use a membership site script to protect your product.

DLGuard is a great script to use because unlike other membership site scripts, you can protect more than one product from a single installation.

    Good luck,

    1. Try Goal Setting in GA to track your goal (download hit).
    2. Tag utm_medium, utm_source, utm_campaign to link in your letter
    (How I use utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign from Google Analytics | Davin's blog)
    3. View Goal Funnel report in GA and then segment by your traffic medium

What's this thread doing in the Copywriting forum?

      Tracking is a marketing topic.
