Copywriter for offline business Website?

Hi i was wondering if hiring a copywriter would help my situation. I have a website for my offline business which provides a service locally. I do not have a sales page but my site has like 30 pages- alot of information. The problem is that I am getting a good amount of traffic but no one seems to be calling for my services! I was thinking of getting a copywriter just for my home page. Is this a good Idea? Would this help? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also what could someone expect to pay for this service?

If you're getting good local traffic on your site, but the phone isn't ringing, it sounds like a job for a copywriter. A direct response copywriter's job is to get people to take a desired action.

As for cost, there are copywriters in every price range.

If you post a link to your site, the folks here will be better able to help you.

Since you are getting eyeballs to your site,
are you using any tracking to see what pages
they go to most and how long are they on your site?

By tracking them, you can let them get that info
      after they sign in.

Those that sign in become your warmest leads to follow up.

That's your first step, capturing leads.

Second step, is following up. You can do that by following
up with a phone call, or ongoing emails with snippits of valuable info,
and an offer at the end.

This is more about a practical and proven plan to get your desired result...

      ...not just the copywriting.

      All the best,
      Ewen

if your website isn't working, before you hire a copywriter, walk right into the main office, lobby or business suite and ask to speak to the boss or director

Not only will it teach you how to write better copy since your selling in person you WILL get more clients too. Keep in mind to prepare for this, amateurs don't take the time to prepare. IF you're prepared you will get clients this way.

find three of their biggest advertising problems
    show them the benefits
    give them the solution
    and
    don't forget your ABC's

    ALWAYS BE CLOSING

I had a Chicago company approach me last summer with a similar problem. Also a service related business. Sales were down. No inquiries coming in. No-one calling on the phone. Could I take a look at the sales copy used on the homepage?

Clicked on the link. Instantly identified the problem. Rewrote the homepage and launched it.

Three months later... Get in touch with the business owner to see how things are going. He is delighted. The phone has been ringing off the hook for the past couple of months. His PPC team were astonished, in their words, they'd never seen anything like it. And the product owner... he was overjoyed.

1 in every 2 visitors to the homepage was telephonong the company to inquire about this businesses core main service. A 50% conversion rate.

The company concerned... turned around from slowly going under to expanding it's number of operational centers.

Staff numbers were once again on the increase as the work steadily started to flow in. He knocked his direct competition for six locally.

And all on the power of the wording used on his homepage.

I wrote that sales copy. And if you like, I can put you in touch with this business owner to verify the details for yourself. I'd love to do the same for you, if I possibly can.

My contact details are down below...

A lot of people tend to underestimate the value of words... they think that just pretty pictures and simple/basic info equates to good website copy but it just doesn't cut it any more. In terms of how much you should pay for the service - it depends what the Copywriter's level of experience is...

Views but no leads...... it's enough to bring a grown man to tears

Here is what I would do....

Step 1 - Check phone connection *dial tone* check
Step 2 - Check correct number on website - check
      Step 3 - Website Overhaul!!!!!!

      Whats needed.....
      Sweet Copy
      Awesome Pics
      Clear Call to Action
Opt in - Get all those eye balls turn them into emails and pop them on ya list, you will convert them eventually, if you have a good strategy and personality

      Good luck
