Does anyone have any good resources for writing video sales letters?

I've been looking to start writing more video sales letters, but I haven't been able to find much material specifically on writing and creating video sales letters...it must be out there somewhere.

I've done one very quick one at BrianCassingena.com (I know the audio is out, somehow happened when I uploaded it)

I'd love to hear about good resources, or if you're doing video sales letters, especially longer forms, say, more than 10 minutes, which are pulling sales

Thanks guys

You mean sales letters promoting videos or scripted sales copy for the video itself?

Bret Thompson is a respected Australian copywriter who offers a video course on the subject. You can get it (and a whole lot more) if you make a donation of $47 or more to the Queensland Premier’s Flood Appeal here ...

      - Queensland Flood Help

Ted Nicholas is involved with this effort, so I feel comfortable recommending it.

    Brian,

When you deconstruct these things... you'll realize they're essentially just sales letters read aloud.

There's a few tricks you can use to boost their response even further... but if you have a killer sales letter, you've probably got a great video.

Always looking for badass direct-response copywriters. PM me if we don't know each other and you're looking for work.

Yes Daniel, I agree - the principles remain the same, just looking for ways to use the visual elements to boost the emotional points of the letter, and maybe some test results regarding length of video, the use of delayed call to action buttons, etc

If you take a look at David Frey's 12-Step Foolproof Sales Letter Template, you will see that his steps form the basic structure of many of the most successful videos.

His website is marketingbestpractices.com. Ryan Deiss took David's template and incorporated it into his videosalesletterformula.com. Very nice product too.

    Good luck!

      Hey,

I've found Dan Kennedy's "Ultimate Sales Letter" (available on Amazon for a few bucks) to be one of the best guides for any type of copywriting. Another resource I love is the book Ca$hvertising.

Even better, model some of the most successful video sales letters out there. I particularly love Ryan Deiss' approach to video sales letters.

      Hope this helps

Get on Chris Haddad's mailing list.

He has given out his eight step formula in teleseminars with
        John Carlton and Ryan Lee.

It wouldn't be right for me to give out the link to those recordings
as they required an email address to get them.

        Best,
        Ewen

If all you're doing is making a powerpoint of your copy, then simply write the best sales letter you can and animate it. But if you get into live action, there's more to take into consideration. No matter what is said, the delivery can make it or break it.
One book that helped both my content and delivery is "Unlimited Selling Power" by Donald Moyne & Kenneth Lloyd.
