Hi. I think you did this wrong. What you can do is list a few examples here then link to your swipe file. I have no idea if I even want or need your swipe file. But thanks for sharing.

    Ivraa,

The gesture is appreciated. I debated whether or not to post anything in response to this, but for the sake of newbie copywriters who may download your swipe file, I felt it necessary to give some constructive criticism

I find the majority of headlines in this swipe file to be very vague and mostly useless.

For example, 126) The Hottest ____ Anywhere!

It means nothing. The Hottest Cat Anywhere! The Hottest Shirt Anywhere! The Hottest Ebook Anywhere!

    Other equally useless swipes are:
    112. Secrets of (some kind of expert) Secrets of Doctors, Secrets of Cats.
    111. Read This and (threat). Read This and DIE!!!! (lol)

However, there are a couple here which are tried and true. One example:
    127. The last __(hammer)___ you will ever need. - An oldie but goodie.

Now, I realize swipe files are intended to be springboards off of which to brainstorm ideas. So my point here to the newbies: feel free to download. Just make sure you realize that there are some very vague and wholly useless, over-generalized swipes here mixed in with several decent ones, so proceed with caution.

All in all, thank you for sharing with us I know it's free, and we appreciate your time.
    Danielle

Thanks for your valuable feedback Danielle. I fully agree with you. Templates are for getting ideas and of course there need to be a process of shaping the perfect headline. However it can be hard to start with a blank sheet and templates really can give ideas and speed up the process.

I've been holding myself back, not to comment on this thread, but I couldn't any longer.

It's obvious this is the work of an amateur who knows nothing about how/why/when words and phrases work in copy. I almost think this was a bad, clueless attempt at my "Head-Libs."

If anyone wants to see how this is really done, just go to my blog in my signature and sign up. You'll get my Head-libbed versions of the currently best-selling headlines on clickbank. Certainly more meat and more usable than "The Hottest __________ Anywhere."

Like I said... I wasn't gonna say a thing. I sort of sat back and have chuckled at this, but it seems some newbies think this is something worth having. I just felt compelled to call a spade a spade.

MontelloMarketing I appreciate that you talk honest to me, but it is kind of not fun to be smashed by a big warrior promoting his own site... I understand you may have some really good stuff on your site so I'll check it out and give you fair feedback.

I'm trying to get on top of headline writing and I appreciate feedback. I did not call myself a Guru and I would like to continue the conversation here so we can all learn and not just send everyone to his site and opt-in to pick up an ebook....

MontelloMarketing I checked your ebook (required opt-in). Look like you put a lot of effort into it so thanks for sharing it for free.

I have to ask you to explain however why more or less all of your headline examples are more like a section of text. Headline needs to be short for complying with SEO guidelines and in my experience the max. is 100 chars to avoid being cut in SERP.

This is a random picked example from your ebook. It is 138 characters long which if way too long in my opinion...

Okay... you go complying with SEO whatever. I'll continue writing copy that pulls in millions of dollars.

Um... really? Do I have to teach you this? Seriously?

Lars... let me just take a deep breath and slow down here.

You know what? Not worth it.

I've been schooled. Thanks Lars. Please teach us more about this copywriting thing. I hope to someday be able to get SEO traffic like you!

Although it's a great resource for an experienced
copywriter, I think it can be greatly improved
by supplying real life examples under each
    headline.

And on a sidenote, 154 formulas are too many, too much choice, if you
can nail it down to 25, it would be gold.

    Remember: less is more!

Spot on that is how I fell too, I'm sorry that sharing my swipe in good faith ended up with a conversation like this.... Not really brining any value to the table.

You know what? Not worth it.
I completely agree! We just find it hard to communicate.

I hope to someday be able to get SEO traffic like you!
I'm not aware of your money sites but your blog could use a hand. Alexa 384.000 is not a lot. My main blog (tripwire magazine – Graphic and Web Design Blog) has alexa 7.600... and yes I know it not a exact technology but it gives a pretty good indication and I'm pretty happy about my 320.000 visits last month.

Hope we can share ideas and experience some other time in a friendly tone and without being called an amateur.
