New Video & Landing Page - Opinions Appreciated

Hey all
I'm just testing out a new video and landing page layout and copy for my product A.S.A.Piano and would really love to get some constructive feedback from you folks.

I won't elaborate any further because I'd like some genuine 'first impression' opinions

Regards
Shayman

    Hi Shayman,

Looks like you have a great product and your sales page is a good effort.

The headlines at the top need to be combined into a single headline that encompasses all the thoughts - and gives a specific time to be able to play, rather than just 'fast'.

I normally write about thirty headlines over several days - but here's a quick thought ...

Learn To Play A Complete Tune In Just Two Hours . . . Even If
You've Never Played A Note Before And Can't Read Music
    - GUARANTEED!

Your 'complete beginner' video is good and should come right after the revised (single) headline.

Then you need to take your best testimonial and put it under the video. The rest should be split up and placed throughout the narrative, where they can reinforce your claims. That's far more effective than just in a block.

Then write a personal letter from yourself to the prospect, complete with salutation that will set out some common ground, something like 'Dear fellow music lover'.

You should say how enjoyable being able to play the piano is and how their friends will be impressed (very important to stress that aspect - because we all want to be admired and respected, so it will have a strong EMOTIONAL appeal that sells).

Then say how it might seem daunting, but - as an experienced teacher you have developed a simple system that empowers anyone to play a tune in two hours (or whatever the average time is).

Once you've proved the headline and told them why they should listen to you, then you can go on to introduce the product.

    There's lots more, but that's a start.

    Warmest regards,

    Paul

P.S. Just a thought ... but why restrict your market to just piano, when most folks, these days, have keyboards?

    Hi Paul.
Thanks for the compliment and I genuinely believe that this is a good product..how do I know..because I'm a guitarist, not a pianist but even I have sat down and learned some of these songs!!

As always your take on things is great!! Thanks for such a detailed and useful post. I think you've kind of opened up a can of worms that I was avoiding

Here's my dilemma- We (Samantha and I) now have 2 products as you can see on the landing page..the Song Course, aimed at people who want to perform songs, and a Melody Course, aimed at people who just want to play the singing line on the piano. There is a market for both I believe, and we upsell right at the point of purchase for both courses at a discount price ($47 for both) which has had some success!!

What I'm trying to do with that landing page is give a very quick insight into the concept, then get the customer to choose which course they would like to learn more about and hopefully buy.

The personal letter from Samantha is contained within the course they choose..so if you click through on either you'll see this and much more about each product.

Trouble is, I don't really know if this process works. We have had a few sales over the past week but this has mainly been through our mailshots.

I've just put this new landing page up within the last hour so I don't know if it's right or not..hense my post.

Also..what do you think of the video??? Is this good or bad...it is genuine!!

    Thanks
    Shayman

p.s..I like that headline and will give it a go.
p.p.s..we have thought about keyboard and guitar too...but only have so many hours in a day and want to get the model right first!!

      Hi Shayman,

Trouble is, there are no short cuts in marketing and you're trying to do too much in one step here.

I think the best way forward is to have two web sites with two different, keyword rich, domain names.

Yuu'll get far more and better targetted traffic that way, because each one (including the domain name) can be built on the highest searched keywords for that market.

Then - when you've made a sale on either site - you can introduce your special deal with the other product, as a one time offer add on sale.

Regarding the video: It might be an idea to reshoot the first section, so Samantha can explain she is the professional teacher who has developed the system.

That would also give you a chance to cut out where she swaps places with the pupil. A 'clock wipe' transition or even a simple fade (overlapping the two bits of video on the track) would look good.

That video from Marion is great, but it either needs to be right there on the page or incorporated into the back of the existing 'beginner plays Imagine' video.

      Warmest regards,

      Paul

I think you have a good point Paul. That is my gut feeling too. I personally think that the Melody Course is probably going to be the more popular of the two, so my initial thought was to focus on that one, maybe offering the Song Course as an upsell...OR...just combine the two products COMPLETELY and increase the price to $47.

BTW, I've now made some of the changes that you suggested to the landing page as far as the copy and layout goes, so I'll run with it for a few days to see what happens..but I think we may need to make a bigger decision at some point...however..we are making a few sales..I just feel that we could be making way more !!
