Advice needed on potential WSO

Hi there,

I was hoping someone could give me a few tips on the WSO i'm thinking of putting together.

I used to be in IT and have the skills to do step by step tutorials on things like setting up VPS's which would be great benefit to anyone thinking of starting an IM business.
Thing is, to me the Worrior forums seem to be geared to selling info products on how to make money rather then the actual setup of a platform on which to "potentially" make money.

There are of course many benefits to running a VPS instead of individual hosting accounts, especially because this one is 100% free. However, I am concerned that it is not "THE ULTIMATE MONEY MAKING SCHEME"... you know what I mean.

My question is, do you think a step-by-step tutorial on getting a free vps up and running with wordpress, joomla or drupal in 10 minutes is a good product idea or is it too much hassle for the average joe?

In fact is anyone reading this interested in the info, for the right price obviously.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

    Hi,

I understand your concerns and I would have to agree that sometimes it seems that Warriors are looking for that get quick rich scheme only.
BUT, WF is not your only platform, in fact, if you take a look at Laura Roeder you will find that she sells tutorials on how to setup a Wordpress blog or a twitter account.
And I believe she pulls something like 300k annual revenue. So in short, yes, there is a market for your product.
Is it here on WF, I don't know.

What would I do? I would create a dedicated salespage for my product. Try to get some guest blog posts in IM related blogs.
I would try to find forums where the problem your product solves, is being discussed. Make an account and start helping people. And when the time is right, put the link to the sales page in my sig and perhaps strike a deal with the forums owners.

I hope this helped at all.

    Regards,
    Mark

      Thanks again

If your appeal is mainly to Webmasters, then it will probably be of interest to a lot of Warriors. One thing you might consider with everything you write is to define acronyms once and only after you've done that use the abbreviation. I had no idea what a VPS was (until I looked it up just now).

Your target market probably does, but even so, people jsut getting started will appreciate that you took the time to spell it out for them. Good luck.
