DHL tested a landing page and got a 108% improvement on opt-ins just by swapping out the model.

[thanks to my Private Eye mate Niall]

...now what if that sheila was a nekked sheila huh?

That's pretty crazy because the overall effect change is, to me, very subtle.

    Cool share, thanks.

Well...that guy DOES look a bit sketchy. I get the feeling he's ready to run off with that 30% sign.

Maybe people found the female model less threatening? Or they subconsciously hoped that after they signed up, she would personally contact them for a dinner date? :p

I'd love to see male/female response statistics along with that - might clear up some questions (or create many more...!)

I remember Gary Halbert tested using his girlfriend's photo.

He used different facial expressions of her and they also made a difference to response.

The smile was a winner for both male and female audiences.

      Best,
      Ewen

I met his girlfriend in Orlando, Ewen, and I'll just say she was a winner wearing any expression! :-) ...of course she was also a former Miss Costa Rica.

...also on the DHL split test, tell me what % of their typical clients are male to female and it may help explain the difference in AD response.

I'd suggest their core contingency is heavily female biased as most office managers and admin assistants are female.

Of course, I have no actual data to back this up....

I wonder if the response would have improved as much if she wasn't Asian.

I will give my point of view with reserve due to lack of info. Would Woman project more security, safety, stability, trustworthiness, nurturing than their counterpart?... however, I too would like to know the % of male vs female clients as I used male and female models in my landing pages without significant difference... my clients were 70% male vs 30% female approx.

I don't its sex that sells, but its the idea that a female's face is more welcoming as compared to a male's face.

How many airline hostess do you see are female as compared to males? Women tend to be more suitable for hospitality roles...(pardon me for generalizing)

Men don't (usually) like to look at men. Women look at both men and women.

When you have a man's picture you're alienating the men. Stick a woman's picture on and you've literally doubled the market.

That's crazy, I barely noticed the difference...I wonder if the traffic was from a different source.
