Have You Been Lied To About This Part?

Now that I've got your attention, here's what's this is about.

You may of, and more than likely been told, read, about the ideal length of a headline.

Maybe even no more than so many words.

I know Ted Nicholas has said from his testing that his results showed that going over X number of words decreased results.

You may of also read on this forum that "make money" salesletters don't work because of their long headlines.

Well a guy who worked with Gary Halbert for 6 months wrote a headline with over 50 words
in it...and got a 6% response rate for that lead generator.

Just goes to show that if you really know what you are doing, you create your own reality
away from what others say can't be done.

I headed over to Craig Garber's website to give the link to his training video on pushing
people's buy buttons, but he's pulled it.

Even though it's gone, he has valuable nuggets for copywriters and marketers.. In fact Gary Halbert said he thought he was a better copywriter than him.

I've seen a few copywriters come on here asking how to handle clients. Those issues would highly likely not of happened if there was proper positioning.

Craig is a master at positioning as well as lead generation.

Those two skills get you clients, high paying ones, and hassle free ones too.

Here's the one click Seductive Selling And The King's Ramblings to his wisdom, where he keeps everything real...no B.S.

There's no story telling what it was like working with Gary Halbert, he has his own authentic voice, and made it without back up from a old boys network.

Go enjoy and savior his rare wisdom.

Best,
Ewen

      Craig is the man.

What impresses me about him is that he's made his name almost all by himself.

Halbert helped him launch his copywriting career, but you don't see Craig running around in the "guru" circles these days, and he makes a lot more money on his own products than he does with clients.

One thing he told me once that's stuck with me... Referring to copywriters...

Not one in 1,000 ever stops writing copy. Real genius in copy lies in strategy, not in writing copy.

People who know strategy make lots of money. People who write good copy... Keep getting paid to write good copy.
I've been a big fan of Craig's stuff for a long time.

And he's a genuinely nice guy too.

This may be a little self-promotional, but if you guys haven't heard of him, he rocked this interview I did with him awhile back (it's free, and he dishes out some amazing advice)...

        Hi Scott,

That reference you made to strategy over copy by Craig, was also talked about by Ted Nicholas at a Live event I was at.

Yet most think of him as a copywriter first.

He's a marketing strategist first, and uses top copy to make the strategy work.

Thanks for mentioning the recording you did with Craig, I think I have listened to it before.

It's been awhile since his name has been mentioned around here, so I used him as a demonstration of what can be done, despite going against common thoughts on headline length.
