Looking for ads for my swipefile

Hello,

Can anyone give me any good places to find DR adverts on the net. I've been going to this blog Info Marketing Blog | Direct Response Marketing | Copywriting for the last few months an d have worked my way through all his posts.

I'm open to swipefile products but would prefer free resources.

Not sure how much you'll find online but if this is your arena, you NEED to be a member/subscriber of GKIC (Glazer-Kennedy Insider Circle)... it's what they do!

Dan Kennedy is one of the best direct response marketers around.

This is Lawrence Bernstein's site Info Marketing Blog | Direct Response Marketing | Copywriting

He has lot of great advertising copy swipes you can download for free. He also offers commentary and insights on each piece.

I don't think so.

I mean if you're looking for good swipes, then your classroom is all around you. The classics are available everywhere on the internet for free ... and if you want to see what's working today, just do what was mentioned above--find an ad that's been running for a few months in your favorite magazine and study it.

I think people are too quick to throw money at problems. Maybe Glazer-Kennedy have some otherwise good info (personally, I'm not a fan .... to put it mildly) , but ponying up just for the swipes seems completely unnecessary.

If you're actually read any of the stuff you're accumulating, you are ready for step two.

Get on mailing lists. Evaluate what you get sent. Scan, or type, or otherwise put it into your swipe file.

The idea here is to write. ...Ads. ....Not find an alternative to stamp collecting.

Go to the biggest library you can get to and set aside a few hours to go through back issues of magazines which have DR ads in them. The criteria to use is to check that a particular ad has run for 3 consecutive months or more, that will only happen if it's pulling sales. And if a print ad is profitable these days it must have something going for it, with the rising cost of media and the falling readership of so many "offline" media.

P.S. I concur with the post about the GKIC newsletter - you always get some awesome stuff every month with those guys, both in the swipe files they give you and with their own marketing materials which is an often forgotten but crucially important part you should be studying as well.
