A fix for the death of copywriting: The birth of ad writing

Good news Ewen here.

There's an abundance of opportunity to write tiny ads and be paid retainers for it.

Want to know more?

Well come closer and I'll whisper the secret.

As you know, 10's of Billions are spent on Adwords every year
and that number continues to grow.

With the increase of competition for buyers attention and click rates dropping,
these advertisers are hurting.

And no wonder.

All you see is a sea of sameness.

Shortly I'll give you a link to see a before and after block of Adwords ads
so you can fully see what I mean.

Now think how much easier and time saving it would be to write a paragraph
instead of hundreds in a long form sales letter.

Then there is managing their advertising campaigns.

Very common to be paid a percentage of the ad spend,
just like the big brand ad agencies do.

Bigger the ad spend the more money you make.

If you don't know the inner workings of the Adwords platform,
there are plenty of geeks who can help you out.

Now here's the link to show you the block of ads.

It's all inside a sales letter showing how you
crank out these tiny ads that pull in clicks.

Even if you don't buy, the letter is a great example of
the Bencivenga method to letter writing.

Another gold nugget right there too.

Best,
Ewen

Easy to court attention by firing a controversial post and see where the whole thing lands.

If copywriters are in deed having their market slip away,
then the old rule in marketing needs to be brought back into #1
      importance...

and that is your target audience is more important than your message and your offer.

Old schoolers like Halbert and Kennedy have preached it a number of times.

Life gives you a lesson, it's up to us if we want the learning so we don't repeat.

So my post puts a spotlight on a target market for copywriters not talked about often.

      Best,
      Ewen

        Great stuff Ewen...

It's true that Ad copy gets a very disproportionately small amount of attention here in relation to most other types of Copy, I've been thinking about that a lot actually.

And since heavy hitters like Perry Marshall and Glenn Livingston focus primarily on the workings of creating successful PPC campaigns rather than creating ad copy, they're not mentioned in this part of the forums as often as I think they should. They do have a lot to teach us about text ad copy... and there's money to be made there.

Well said. It's easy to focus on the vice versa. And thanks for the reminder... I need to stop treating that like a suggestion.

That is really interesting, thank you for sharing. The difference in the quality of ads for the guitars was night and day. I know which ones I would click on!
